*Championship Manager. He means Championship Manager :p

Korsten ‘injured’ so accurate. Freund and Taricco ‘wanted’ so less accurate (loved Taricco though).

Also, we’ve lost a couple of those Spurs players in Richard’s and Goran 😢

Edit: Just caught up on the objections to our nostalgic tangent. Apologies.

Why do people get pissy about the player thread going a little astray? It's natural the conversation spreads a bit and you discuss types of player and how they compare to others or fit into a system.

It's the closest they'll ever get to joining the real Police (even though the bar is now incredibly low).

WLB mentioning David again today. Seems like it’s all one big puzzle tbh.

Fwiw I quite like David and if it means say Neto or Eze & David I think that’s a reasonable set of additions to the squad.

Just feels like he's missing the N' before the David.

To be completely fair, I haven't seen much of him at all. That's just the gist of what I've taken from people discussing him in here.
Ok mate that’s what I thought. No he’s nothing like N’Jie mate. Much better player.

For a start N’Jie is a winger and David is a striker who can at times play as a winger.

David is 24yrs old and has 70+ goals in 140 apps in Ligue 1, N’Jie is now 30yrs old and has 28 goals in 91 Ligue 1 apps.

David is a better finisher and his movement is better.

Not to be rude but it does frustrate me when people put dramatic comments things like ‘please god no’ when as you’ve now admitted you’ve not actually seen him play! 😅

I think people have bad memories of our business in France so automatically have doubts. Add to that he's Canadian who do not produce top players (Stalteri aside ). Then to top it off he has 2 first names and doesn't sound fancy.

That's fair. I suppose it's a minor meltdown on my part (I usually don't partake), as it's starting to feel like we might be "making do."

I'll return to being patiently positive presently. :)

I said it in the Solanke thread but my biggest worry with David is if he flops, we may then struggle to get him off our books. Not sure what his wage demands are.

Too many of those signings in the recent past that we get on a supposed bargain but then can't shift if they are not suited.

This would be the most typical Spurs signing ever. Go after a top player like Eze, know his clause/terms, refuse to meet them and then switch to a cheap, average player like David as he only has a year left on his contract. I really hope we arent going to act like we use to and sign opportunistic players on long term deals that wont improve us. I'd rather sign no striker and get Chiesa and Neto and then go big for Openda next summer.

Honestly cant belive we like thie guy.

Oh yeah, we like the price lol.
Sensed a bit of a shift in the news we’ve been getting in the last couple of days.

I wonder if it’s the worst case scenario with Richarlison. Plagued with niggling injuries so he’s neither of much use to us nor very valuable as an asset to sell?

Just find it underwhelming and so often we get linked to top players and as the window progresses these links fade and up pop the cheaper underwhelming ones.

Was hoping would be different with Ange but that familiar trend feels like its around the corner.

We'll see....
