This would be a great signing IMO.

As others have said he's exactly the sort of player we're missing.

Wouldn't have to play every game but would just give us that option to have a destroyer in the middle of the pitch where needed.

If we sign Gomes we should be looking to sell Bissouma as I can't really see him getting into the team. We might as well have £20m + to put against this deal. Bissouma doesn't really offer anything other than dribbling up blind alleys, he doesn't create doesn't score doesn't make last ditch tackles and is often missing when the opposition are on a break away. It hasn't really worked for him under Ange and I thought his comments were pretty telling concerning the laughing gas incident. I don't think I really want that type of character around the team, it showed a lack of respect to the club.
Agreed, didn't sit right with me at all. Not what I expect a player trying to establish himself here to do. Very unprofessional, I felt it made him look unserious as a footballer. I don't want players that are happy with their level and not pushing themselves to be the best they can be. That's before you even consider the legal aspect and then incriminating himself.

It does mean a lot of numbers for those 3 midfield places.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see one leave.

The good thing is a number of them can fulfil multiple of those 3 roles.

With 5 subs and good rotation options Ange can demand high octane from these players every game. With at least 2 of those subs used to freshen those positions

We’ve heard about him so probably means we won’t get him and get some out of the blue player instead 😂

Who would take him?
West Ham, Everton, Brentford, Palace, maybe Wolves...

Im sure a whole host would it least be interested
The problem with Bissouma is that he probably thinks he is better than he actually seems to be so hard to see him taking any sort of step down. He seems like an ambitious guy. More chance of him moving on next summer if he barely features this season.

Maybe he would be tempted to return to Brighton for £15-20m.

I'm trying to figure out what our ideal midfield composition looks like with a signing like this.

In the long run, are we looking at moving the creative midfielder deeper like Pirlo, Kroos or Modric and having the other two midfielders being aggressive pressing machines like Sarr, Bergvall and this guy?

If so does that mean a player like Maddison is going to see less minutes?
