I'm secretly hoping (not so secretly now I guess) that the "other club" (if there is another club) that's put a bid in for Bale is PSG and we can work something out with Pastore + a significant amount of moolah in exchange. Him and Lamela alongside/behind Soldado would be damn near sexual.

His time at Palermo is a better indication of what he's like, he's nowhere near his peak but he needs the right system.

But yeah, he was never, in a bujillion yrs, worth the best part of £40m. I'd really like to sign him though. Still, Bale will never agree to join PSG so it's all moot.

Well he likes playing Chelsea!

The boy has the technical ability and the close control needed around opposition boxes, he would be an upgrade on Sigurdsson in that position.

Fantastic player, just do not this one is a goer at all though. Signing 2 of my favourite players (Lamela the other) in one window is just too much to ask. Would be like having Ossie&Ricky the new generation...

I agree. His best work is carried out when he has a lot of space and time on the ball, doesn't fit our quick pass and move philosophy. His range of passing is awesome, so accurate. England would stifle him, players would always be nipping at him and while he's more than capable of engineering space for himself with his great ball control I don't really think he'd be composed enough to make his passes. That's why he has struggled in France, it's all about athleticism and speed there... Just are a look at Capoue!

Also, he's definitely no monster despite being 6'2. He's built like Peter crouch unfortunately. Pastore is all technique, bit of a slow thinker though, didnt help tht he made his name in notoriously slow Serie A. It's a playing style he can't seem to shake off.

All being said, he's exactly what we could have done with the past 2 games against teams that set up to defend in the last third. He could have dwelled as long as he wanted to on the ball and then pick out a pass no one could see is on.

I think the reason why this could happen is because I think blanc wants Cabaye instead of a #10

not so much out of favour but he definitely delivered less than they expected from him in past 2 years. as far as I know..

He's the kind of player who is easily underappreciated in the modern game because he isn't all step-overs or pace. With all the big name signings PSG have made he's never going to be the standout but he has a great feel for the game, wonderful first touch and full of subtleties. We're the kind of club and fans that love that type of player and with other players we have in the squad he'd be a wonderful addition to add some much needed creativity. Which obviously means there is no chance.

Ive heard of him but tbh i don't think ive ever seen him play.
From the YT clips it looks like he has all the technical ability in the world
If AVB believes he can fit into our system and get the best out of him then its a thumbs up from me.

Lamela + Pastore would be absolutely brilliant

I actually mentioned it on my personal twitter 2 days ago before the journalist's info :)

he seems unsettled at Paris and was booed off at their last home game

Blanc came out and said last week that they will need to sell first before buying anyone

as for Pastore he would be perfect for our creativity /playmaking problem

I actually read an article written by a psg fan where he says that Pastore best period with PSG was with Kombouare when he was the main guy and played down the middle behind the striker then with the change of managers he was used as winger which didn't work out so well for him and he lost his confidence with the pressure from the fans due to his price tag .. now with Ibra and Cavani it seems there very little chance he will play in the middle again

Hmm, not so sure in our side to be honest. There is so much midfield protection that he could literally just operate as the link to the forward players. Enough technical players with limited physical ability have shone in the Premiership now to suggest that a player of his ilk would be just fine. It's not like the pitches are warzones anymore.
