Chicharito's contract is due to expire in the summer of 2015, and without a deal in place - looks set to leave Old Trafford for free.

Sir Alex Ferguson paid a modest £6million for Hernandez in 2010, but has never managed to cement a spot in any United managers' first-eleven.

The Mexican decided to join Real Madrid on loan in the summer, and has managed to net three times during his limited playing opportunities - which begs the question: why is he surplus to requirements in Manchester.

Reports strongly claim that Carlo Ancelotti will not ask Hernandez to stay in Spain, leaving the striker free to sign a pre-contract agreement with potential suitors in January.

Premier League quartet Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham are known to be in the market for a striker.

And still only 26-years-old, Hernandez would be an ideal addition to any strike force in England.

Our special relationship with Madrid is over.

So maybe we actually can get some of their players now.

3 goals in 6 appearances for Madrid, most of which were bit-parts.

And he'll be available on a free transfer.

We could do far worse.

If we are going to keep playing Soldado and Kane as our main duo we will need back up. If we brought in say J Rod and Hernandez and shipped out Ade thats a decent 4 to play with.

Hernandez is far too similar to Soldado imo. If we are going to get rid of Ade we should go for someone like Benteke.

EDIT :actually, completely forgot about Bony. Would prefer him to Benteke but I think either one of them would improve our team.

Thats the point though isn't it? Kane and Rodriguez for one position and Sol/Hernandez for the other.

Depends how we are going to play. I don't see Poch abandoning one up front (at least away from home) and I think we need one striker with physical presence. Kane is quite strong, but he seems more suited to playing deeper imo.

On a free or for a nominal fee absolutely. Need a proven goal scorer who can take the work load off Kane and works hard. MP will have him harassing from the front. If he could make Ricky Lambert into a International striker I have no doubts he would have Hernandez improve.....

Without wanting to be too harsh on the lad I think he's absolutely fucking rubbish.

Soldado without the neat interplay and touch.

Not sure he is much like Soldado apart from the moniker "poacher" but what people are overlooking is that he is blessed with pace.

We've been crying out for that as an option in our forward line as our counter-attacking has been abysmal. However, while the lad has talent he has barely been played in recent seasons. He has had injuries so I might say he'd be worth a punt but I'd put him through a pretty exhaustive medical!

I'm curious though - has anyone ever seen him play on the wings before. could he be an option for the J-Rod role?
