We got Yang coming in January so if we decide to ditch timo then I guess he takes his place . Similar position

Very much doubt we see anything of Yang in terms of first team this year.

Would like to be wrong!

What's the script with Salt and Bethell and them coming to England. Are the ECB and private schools out there scouting for talent and offering scholarships or do they both have strong English links?
Doesn't sit right with me if we're doing the former.
Much like this thread, it just ain’t cricket.

Grealish a few years ago, yes please but now, nope. He’s a quality player but he’s 29, big wages and we’ve already got our own Grealish in Moore. I know they’re at polar opposite ends of their career but Moore looks very similar to Grealish and likely with a higher ceiling. Granted he’s yet to deliver what Grealish would but to sign JG now doesn’t make much sense. He’s not a Son replacement and would limit Moore’s game time. We need the next Son and a right sided equivalent. Plus a reliable alternative to Richarlison.

Son
Son replacement (not Yang)
Moore

Johnson

Forget Edwards, he’s nowhere near good enough for where we want to be. We need ready made improvements for the first team now, not convenient squad fillers due to HG status.

Just spitballing, because I doubt we do anything in January or until we sell Richy, but who would be the ideal back up for Solanke?

Big physical, decent technique and presses like a machine for trousers made by Corby.

I’m sure we’ll be interested in Delap if Ipswich go down. Physical, works hard, has shown he can score in the PL.

I don’t understand why his name repeatedly gets brought up. As you say he isn’t good enough, why clog the squad when we have Moore and LWB coming through.

Misplaced nostalgia I think…
I think it’s because we know we need club trained player for our squad and we don’t have many (any) former players who can come back and do a job

kwp
Cirkin
Madueke (no chance)
Edwards
Skipp
Winks
Kane (obviously not)
Mundle
Tanganga

not sure if I’ve missed anyone

We don’t “need” a club trained player though? We can use the youngsters.

I think it keeps coming up because there’s this assumption that we have to have club trained players and we can’t use our talented youngsters (that don’t yet count as club trained) towards these numbers.

It doesn’t help that the rules for premier league and Europe are different either. So it becomes a bit confusing.

In the next few years we’ll be able to count Gray, Bergvall, and Moore as home grown. Maybe even Lankshear, Dorrington, Scarlett and a few others too if they progress well.

Youngsters need to spend 2 seasons at the club for CL, if we get CL next season we will have to make some cuts and we will have another Spence situation or two, three. Bergvall, Gray, Yang-Min won't have 2 years with us yet. Vuskovic won't either because he is loaned, so will need 3 years with us I think? Hopefully few academy kids will be ready to step up.

Absolutely Bullied us today. Him up against our defence was like a man against boys!

STILL need a 1v1 RW (same as fucking last window), need a 6 who’s disciplined out of possession, need Udogie competition, need a LCB who can pass (or keep Davies around).

You misspelt squad
I know it’s knee jerk to post this after a defeat but I don’t know where we upgrade, because it could be anyone and everyone.
would say that kulusevski, vdv porro Sarr and Solanke are the only ones I wouldn’t look to upgrade.
Not convinced by vicario, and udogie is stinking the place out at the moment.
maddison has gone off a cliff.
Bentancur is good but can we do better?
Bissouma another
Johnson just taps in but can’t beat a man.
son is aging quickly
Romero is hit and miss
Radusin is a conte style defender, not confident on the ball

werner- just no
Odobert/bergvall/gray too soon to say

so I’d say we should be looking for a
