Our best and most consistent defender over the last two-three seasons. Probably since he first signed in 2012, really.

If he stays fit and injury free and if he wants to, he can deliver the goods at least for 2-3 more seasons.

There are some players you keep regardless of age and sometimes you need to forget the 'business' decision and he is one of those. Should have a testimonial at the end of the 10 years in three years time.

I agree but if he wants to go back to Ajax or something to finish off his career we should do everything to assist him.

Oh yeah I'd agree with that but if he wants to stay then we keep him... Ofcourse within reason, not at the age of 40 and one leg

Important to keep players who actually have an attachment with the club.

Jan is definitely the sort of player that, if he can stay fit, can carry on at top level for a number of years yet. Keep him at Spurs, then final year of his career let him go back to Ajax. What a player he is

Been a brilliant signing. Watching him and Alderweireld marshall our defence was a thing of beauty after some of the, dare I say, inferior signings that didn't quite cut it.

Long time since we had a testimonial, give him another 2 years, his injury record is good, he was never rapid, and he defends with his head.

Always felt he'd see out his prime years with us. Great left-back option too, since it looks like Danny's leaving.

Can we please just hand the man a new contract for three years!!! He's more than good for it and deserves it more than almost any other player I can think of. By far my favourite player!
