Obviously we've been linked with him in the past as well, numerous times, both whilst he's been at Norwich and even Coventry before that.

I'm a big fan of the way he plays, despite his dodgy tweets about Gareth Bale from when he was a youngster. Seems as though he would be cheaper than Grealish so may be an alternative to JG if we can't get Villa to play ball on the fee.

I'd prefer him over Grealish, but I can't seeing us signing them both and it appears the Grealish deal is more advanced so probably just agent talk?

Potentially yeah although not sure how well talks are going over the fee for Grealish. I feel like it would be easier to pry JM from Norwich despite the fact that Villa are in financial trouble. He's far and away their best player and it seems like they may want to hold out for upward of 30m, dunno.

I'd be happy with either as a young understudy for Eriksen but I sway towards JM at this stage.

If you compare the two players, Maddison just seems to be a lot quicker in decision making than Grealish. JG probably has more tricks up his sleeve but JM knows what he's doing before he's even received the ball.

Grealish can stay at Villa, JM would be a much better option IMO .I wonder how Poch feels today with no signings made a month after our season ended ?

Grealish is better hands down. I don’t even believe this is one for a debate.
Maddison is just newer on the scene and in our zeitgeist and has a lot less memory baggage with a lot of us than Grealish.

I think this guy would make a couple of steps up in progression with better players around him. Technically I think he's as good as any English player right now.

Southampton and Leicester both agreed 22 million fee for him

Should make Villa more realistic with the fee for Grealish even though I think Grealish is the more talented one of the two.

Apparently Leicester have had a bid of 25 million accepted according to Telegraph.Didn't Norwich hold out for insane money and we backed out?

January window is different - there's always a premium in players due to the circumstances
