19 year old Coventry midfielder who we were linked with inn the summer, Not sure we need another midfield player, we are pretty stacked with them atm.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was of the impression that this kid was quite versatile, playing all of central mid, attacking mid, winger, and even striker. No idea if this link is genuine or not, but I think we've been linked with him even before this past summer.

I will like James Maddison at the Club. Somehow, i think he will be something "Big" in the future, if he can continue to be nurtured properly.....

Versatile, great range of passing off of both feet, can dribble, score, create, tackle, take a free kick, take pens, good work-rate, decent pace... erm...yes please.

There have been reports of Davis Pleat watching him in the Coventry Telegraph last week which presumably is what has promoted this story. He is watching by a lot of clubs apparently.

Since I have never seen him play I simply don't have much of an opion about him. But early "promises" is not enough ,and that is something the Spurs scouts are very aware of I am sure.
A few years back Spurs made an off for Will Hughes (Derby) according to ITK Jasper but Derby wanted far too much. He was seen as the "next big thing". He still could become a good player but he hasn't progressed as expected...

After the success of Dele Alli it makes sense we would still be scouring the lower leagues, along with everyone else.

I'm guessing it would be the same sort of thing as Alli (buy and loan back). We certainly shouldn't rest on our laurels. We may be stacked at the moment but next season? Maybe Carroll doesn't kick on? Maybe Mason never gets over his injuries? Maybe the club deem Bentaleb surplus to requirements? Maybe Eriksen/Dembele leave for another club? Always worth looking for more talent.

Someone on here said he had Modric-esque moments in midfield. Don't know if that's wishful thinking, but encouraging.

The "new Dele Alli". Love it, anyone would think he's approaching retirement. It's little wonder that young players get arrogant and complacent.

Anyway, good thing that we are actively looking at future star players from the lower leagues. Bring him in I say.

I live near Cov and have a few friends who support them and think he's pretty good.

I have a whacky mate, who's been going to Cov since he he was a kid and says Maddison reminds him of Raheem Sterling, before he became rich.

He's not scared to take players on and is direct.

He says players just like Walcott and Schweinsteiger used to do before they became rich and now just pass the ball sideways!!!

when other clubs get wind of youngsters we are after they will show interest despite not even knowing the player...

Id never heard of him until this morning but I like the look of him.

From that video he looks like he doesn't mind using either foot, which is a rarity nowadays. Cant really see if he's got much pace though.

We do have good relations with Coventry though so that could be quite key in getting him to us over other teams.

His close control and "tight area" dribbling are somewhat similar to Modric, but IMHO his overall play is a cross between Modric, Dier, Alonso and Carrick. I feel he has very good "upside"........Hope he can be nurtured properly to reach his full potential - whether that is with us or otherwise.

Looks a great prospect and fits with our strategy

Buy now, loan back and watch him develop

If the 5m fee is to be believed it looks a good bit of business
