Was fantastic at Dortmund first time around but he's been pretty underwhelming since coming back to England imho.

The talent is there through.

I just don’t think he’s what we need either. He‘s best on the left, which is partly why it all went to shit at United for him when Ronaldo came in, and the put Rashford on the left, Sancho just couldn’t perform as well on the right.

We already have Son, Odobert, Werner and Moore who are better off on the left wing. So we’d be shoe horning him, or somebody else onto the right side of the system.

With what this would cost, it’s a big no from me.
At BVB he played primarily as a right winger, 83 games total including 7 times on his last stint Vs 54 times on the left wing, he also played AM from time to time. And lets face it, we would be getting him for how good he was for BVB not his time at Utd. I mean he was awful for Utd where ever he played, struggled to beat his man, looked off the pace etc. What you get with Sancho on the right is more of a provider then a goal scorer. He puts in a lot of crosses and plays passes through the lines for the striker to run onto. I have my doubts about him as a player but he can play on the right very well, at least he can in Germany. Which is another point being, can he preform like he did in the Bundesliga in the Premier League. I'm really not sure.

I would much prefer a left footer on the right then another right footer but i'd have no issues about playing Sancho on the right if we hypothetically brought him in.

Anyway, I struggle to see this happen due to his wages and interest of other clubs plus there have been questions around his mentality.

I think if his attitude is right, and a desire to make United look like clowns should help with that, he could be good signing. Ideally loan with an option at a reasonable strike price

This is one of those type of moves we always get linked with but I can’t see happening.

Would like to be wrong though as we are still one top wide player short imo and Sancho’s profile fits exactly what we need.

Question marks about his attitude perhaps but could just be that he didn’t get on with Ten Haag who let’s face it does seem a bit weird and not particularly likeable so if he’s motivated and would like to come and play for Ange, on loan for 1 season I see no real risk in that at all only upside.

Hope it happens but doubt it will.

No brainer if there it's a no risk loan. He is insanely talented. Tricky personality but i just think he needs the right manager. Ange can be that manager.

This makes no sense to me, we have a ridiculous amount of winger as it is, especially on the left. I mean Son is going to play nearly every game there anyways. Having already signed three wingers this window (Werner, Odobert and the Korean lad) this would just baffle me. Good player tho and I guess maybe we want to play him on the right instead which would indicate to me that Deki will have more of a midfield role. Can anyone else figure this one out?
We are still weak in the wide areas hence the Sancho link and interest.

Our options in attack could then be:
Solanke/Richy - ST
Son/Odobert/Werner - LW
Sancho/Johnson - RW

Kulu would play a central role this season so less need to sign a CM.

The way we play and with Richy’s unreliable fitness and being in 4 competitions we need 7 attacking options for Ange across the season and the above would give us that.

The young Korean lad in January can just train with us until he is up to speed and then next summer we don’t re-sign Werner and we promote Moore moreso to the first team.

That’s how I’d see it working.

Surely an ‘option’ is out the question if we can’t afford his wages? Even if it was included as part of the loan agreement I don’t see it being taken.
Isn't Werner supposed to be on big wages too? We did similar with Adebayor as well. Hell we even loaned Bale back. An option would just mean we can try and convince the player to lower his wages in line with ours.

I still think we should get him we he went to Dortmund (same period as when we sold Walker to City).

A manager like ours and a football philosophy like ours could be just what he needs to get back to his Dortmund standards.

He might well be thinking the same thing

I seem to remember back when he was at Dortmund and both Chelsea and United were in for him, him confirming that he had grown up as a chelsea fan which could swing him to cheslea tbf

If I recall correctly he used to be BFFs with Marcus Edwards and wanted to come to Spurs back then but Citihad wouldn't sell to us so he went to Dortmund for jack shit.

How much are United giving us to take him?

I recall us having an interest in him before he moved to Dortmund.

It's not surprising that he's on our radar now. However, considering his wages and the fact that we’re quite well-covered on his preferred side, it seems unlikely to me that we’ll pursue him seriously.

Perhaps if United are really keen to offload him and sweeten the deal, or if Ange sees him as a crucial signing, I could see it happening. But there's a good chance he's being shopped around, and we’re just one of the many clubs who have been contacted.

He was so good before he went to Man Utd but the constant rumours of attitude issues have to be a major concern. Plus the fact it just hasn't happened for him in the PL.

Lacks a bit of explosive pace to be deployed RW in our system imo. If we had an overlapping RB it wouldn't be as much of an issue but with the way we play he'd have to play LW so we'd have to hope Odobert is effective at RW. If Sancho was LW though he'd be behind Son and he wouldn't accept being back up imo.

So not an ideal fit profile wise for RW, wouldn't accept being backup LW and his wages are huge. Add in the fact we are already at capacity squad wise in Europe and for all of those reasons I don't see it happening. Unless we can cancel the Werner loan as I've suggested we should...

Think it would be a terrible idea. He is supposed to be late to every traing session and meeting. Ange would get fucked off with him within a month.

Also don't think we need to focus on that area of the pitch. Need a high quality 6/8 ahead of another winger.
