Of course he has! What kind of strikers do you really rate? Are you a football man who rates Andy Booth?

Lol yes thats quite a rational response. What kind of strikers do i really rate? hmmm I could probably count 100+ before Id consider Lacina Traore as a top striker ... oh and Andy Booth is number 99

Ok, then I understand that you are kind of a mainstream football guy. Andy Booth is not even on my list. Far, far away from my list.

Im more of a fella than guy to be fair. And you have concluded that Im a mainstream football guy from two posts ... i think the CIA have a requirement for your quick rational decisions and observations.

Right and this Andy Booth player, doesnt half have a thunderous right peg on him. Only the rest of the world disagree with me and David Pleat.

Because every player falls under one of two brackets. The Lacina Traore's and the Andy Booth's.

Supposedly has a £35 million release clause. I'd be happy for us to pay that. It would mean if we went 4-3-3 you would expect our front 3 to all produce roughly 15+ goals in the league; a hell of a lot of fire power there.

Example:

Martinez - Soldado - Lamela
Sandro Eriksen Paulinho
Coentrao Verts Kaboul Walker
Lloris
ERGHMAGHERD

I know the window has passed now but I wouldn't have been pleased to pay 35 million for Martinez, he isn't getting any younger, isn't the best wide forward, and we could use that money to buy someone like Griezmann who would be a much better fit.

Isn't getting any younger!? He's 26.

I thought he was 27, anyway I still feel that money can be better spent on a younger player more suited to a wide forward role.

He is basically 27 as he turns 27 on October 3rd.

I mentioned it earlier in the thread that I don't think the money it'd cost to get him would be money well spent. He's essentially a year (and a few months) younger than Soldado. Soldado comes with a much more established track record than Martinez and I'd pick him over Martinez if given the choice especially at a fee of about 10m less than Martinez (if we're talking release clauses met for both).

I was hoping we would go after a striker in the 21-23 age bracket to really mold behind Soldado but either we couldn't find a target with a fee we could agree to or we simply couldn't get rid of Adebayor/Defoe to make it happen.
