You're absolutely right - @carpediem991 had me stumped because it's a solid argument.

I suspect the majority of agents are perfectly reasonable people really (e.g. Bale's is a standup guy I believe), I just think our perception is skewed by the fact that the most high profile ones are absolute cretins e.g. Sky Andrew, Zahavi (honestly, his first name is "Pinhas"), Neymar Sr., Mendes, Raiola etc.

Surely something has to change though when some agents are not just advising but also dictating to their clients?

You're probably right. If you take any grouping of people, I would expect the majority of them to be decent folk.

However, in lieu of any hard evidence (by which I mean an agent giving me 10% of any deals he makes from now until death, and nothing else), and because for some reason I've decided to be angry about agents for a couple of minutes, I'm going to stick with my first assessment. Fuck them, etc.
