Clearly Poch & Levy watched Danny Mills on Sky the other day and decided the lad needed more starts in the championship :ROFLMAO:

I knew all along he'd go back on loan for a year:cautious:.
Really pleased he's signed but I am disappointed he's going back for an entire season, hopefully he will be a regular visitor to Hotspur way to train with us and I hope there was a financial adjustment if we are going to pay his wages for him to play for Leeds.

I imagine it will be a similar integration to Alli. Can't be bad having input from both Poch and Bielsa for a full season. I look forward to seeing how he does for Leeds this year. I imagine we would have only loaned him back if Bielsa planned on playing his from the start and making him a regular this season. Also good to know the medical brought nothing up with the bench incident last season.

Wasn’t there someone on here adamant that there would be no loan?

Think there was no loan in place (according to a few ITKs and Leeds journos) but something changed over the weekend which coincides with the announcement apparently being pushed back from Friday to today.

I’m thinking we have someone lined up to come in that position and it would push Clarke further down the pecking order.

I think it's a good move loaning him back personally.

Can't see him getting many opportunities in first team squad next season so better he gets more development under Poch's mentor Biesla, who shares a lot of philosophies with Poch.

I'd be tempted to loan more players there whilst Biesla in charge if the opportunity arises.

100% agree on both Clarke and other youngsters - a full season of football next year under a good footballing coach is going to help him much more than sitting around our first team.

Anyway - even if he is going back to Leeds - we've made a signing! Time to freak out a bit????

On a related note - i feel this is some well-timed business, much like Alli was. If we look at Grealish or even Sessegnon, you're talking two players who could have been gambled on a bit earlier (initial breakthrough time) rather than waiting for their profile and price to rise.

It's a finely balanced process which i think is easier to get wrong than right - do you wait for that talent to really show (to everyone) before bidding and therefore pay more if you want them. Or do you go earlier like this deal - where the talent is visible but it's still early days.

Was the fee the reported £8.5m? If so, you don't have to be that good to get £8.5m in 2 years if it doesn't work out. Che Adams just signed for Southampton for around £15m, and while he's much more developed than Clarke, it just shows where the market is for Championship players.

I'd love to be taking more chances on English youngsters from the Championship, especially in positions where we don't already have a lot of Academy kids. Sadly, we have been really unlucky. Sess, Grealish, and now, maybe Aarons (Norwich) all seem to get promoted as soon as we start sniffing around. Che Adams and Jarrod Bowen were two others good prospects, but we didn't seem interested
