Interesting to see what happens with him. Can definitely see him already having agreed a move to someone and forcing Brentford's hand as the window draws to a close when it comes to the fee. Although wouldn't totally rule out him keeping his options open as imagine could see bit of a scramble for him at the death if clubs maybe can't bring in their first choices for whatever reason.

I think he would have been nailed down for Chelsea if not for ffp. I still can see arsenal going for him if they haven't made any moves in the window. There doesn't seem to be any top forwards available this window and they could do with a true centre forward. I think they'll sell Jesus and bring in Toney.

Would love that. Sell Jesus, who seems to be a decent vibes guy for the wierd legohead cult, and bring in Toney who had similar stats last season but is a prick. Bad egg in that locker room will turn wreck that ship so fast.

Toney is a much better all round striker than Jesus.

I don't think that Toney is as Bad as everyone says he is.
He's a very good player, if it wasn't for the other stuff they'd be lining up for him.

Now we've been linked to Isak though him and any other striker would be a step down.

I still think we'll come back to this one late in the window if the price is right. Might not be a great idea though.

Would people in here accept selling Richy and getting Toney for about the same overall price (fee/wages etc)?

So effectively a Richy/Toney straight swap within our squad?

Richy seems a better character and less risk off the pitch, but Toney prob the better striker but bigger gamble (yeah pun intended).

Depends what we value more, I guess.

I would do it. Toney seems to be a douchebag, but he puts the ball in the net and isn't injured all the time. I reckon in a good team he scores 20 a season.

Considering Richy's injuries, it would be hard to justify paying sixty million for him if we could go back in time. He's been injured for over 180 days, or six months, during the last two seasons. This is a considerable amount, especially with matches coming frequently. In contrast, Kane, whom Richy replaced, missed only 33 days due to injury in the same period.

Apart from concerns about his character, betting on Toney to replicate his 22-23 form is risky. At 28, and turning 29 during the coming season, there isn't much evidence to suggest he's an elite striker- just one big season, really. However, if we were confident about his character and could acquire him for a reasonable price, around thirty or forty million, he might be a worthwhile investment, at least in the short term.

No. How many goals was it that Toney put away since his ban, again? One? Two?

I think Toney is a good player - but I just don't think he's a very good player. You might think I'm splitting hairs, but I just don't think he'd take us up a level.

I agree with you re: Isak - he clearly would. But I think tit's a non-starter

Yeah Isak feels like a bit of a pipedream, whereas Toney is attainable.

I don't believe Toney automatically elevates us, but he could enhance our short-term prospects. If acquired at a reasonable cost to compete with or back up Richy and Son, we would likely be stronger than without his depth in that position. However, this hinges on Parrot's readiness to perform for us, as well as the financial considerations and Toney's characters.

I've been very critical of Toney because of very good information I have received on him, but as far as the dressing room and around the other players/coaches are concerned I've heard nothing negative at all. It's not there that he is a problem or more so a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

If the club has even slightly heard similar info to yourself, and I am definitely not questioning you, we can prob forget about this deal going forward
