This is as much knee jerking as the people who said we will fail. Lets just keep calm and enjoy an exciting end to the season.

Lol what is wrong with some spurs fans??

Seriously, just beat the champions and u are still trying to bring us all down....go and knock one out or get ur leg over dude.

He has a point. It's no where near finished yet, anything could happen. It's not the best time to play Wigan, there on some good form, not a certainty at all. It's exciting and it's all to play for. COYS

Thing is ur missing the point...

Football is all about confidence and momentum, we as fans are so important to the team. Especially at this time is the season. So instead of saying ill wait and see what happens after the next two games, get on board this momentum of confidence and good feeling and fucking believe!

That's the difference between us and us being a top club like utd for example. I feel we are really turning a corner in this department, games like today prove that as we are starting to believe we can still win with 15mins to go. But with backward thinking like u and others have got, will only drag us down and keep us from being that top club.

Don't be scared of being hurt, have the confidence to believe.

This. After the end of last season I've lowered my expectations considerably this time around, however I'm just going to try and enjoy it. Today was fantastic and probably the first real 'feel good' game we've had since losing at Anfield. I know we beat Swansea in that time, but even that felt like hanging on for dear life.

This game certainly lifted my spirits, and I'd hope it has a similar effect on the players. We all knew we were going to have a blip at some point, but hopefully that blip looks like it might have involved (after the Liverpool loss) three Europa games and just one league game (Fulham).

We've just picked up 7 points from 3 very tough games and very importantly we've just had 10 days of rest, I think that was something we really needed. With the batteries recharged there's no reason we can't finish strongly!

I don't think it is.
He isn't saying, anywhere, that this win means we will finish in the top 4, or it will be a romp, or easy, or that there is no chance of us slipping up. He's just pointing to certain of our fans who did, literally, say we had no chance. I can show you posts in the last week stating blithely that we had zero chance of beating Citeh. That's not saying it will be difficult, or that they are favourites, it is completely giving up.
Calling these fans out does not necessitate stating the exact opposite.

I think it's the "we'll finish 5th" comment that implies this is no longer a possibility.

I can't recall over the last 20+ years us ever coming from behind so often and nicking points.
It's all in the mind, manure have had it for years, if avb can instill just half of what fergie has done then I can see us pushing for the title in the not so distant future!

I don't think he's saying the reverse - that it is now impossible for us to finish 5th - I think he is lampooning those who were stating that we would, definitively, finish 5th, as part of the established fact syndrome that we were definitively going to lose to Citeh.

You do love a good debate SP :)

Sometimes I think you could start an arguement with a brick.

At the mo we need to win 5 out of 5 to get CL. Hopefully after next weekend, after we have beat Wigan & United beat Arsenal, we will need to win 3 from 4 to secure CL ....

Being a life long pessimist which drives me my family mad. I feel by dampening down ones expectation it allow us to control our mood and thus 'maybe' stopping a period of heavy disappointment and or even mild depression.

Yes its quit obvious, but sometimes it needs to be said.

I never bet on Spurs or predict our score.

Mind nearly fell of my sofa when Defo scored.

I never said it was over. I try to judge objectively.

The 1st season we finished 4th I continuously said we wouldn't make it because I didn't think a strikeforce of Defoe and Crouch would fire us to the points we needed in the big games we had near the end.

I've always thought we were in the race for 4th.

We've had a couple of poor results but Arsenal and Chelsea have some tough games coming up.

Still so much to play for.
