Diop is not top 4, nowhere near, he would not be an upgrade just a waste of money.

Toby and Verts are done at this level. They haven't kept a clean sheet in over a year. To me they are totally crap at defending one on one. They take an age to move the ball forward from the back when they do its a long diagonal ball that leads to nothing 4/1 (don't quote that figure but imo it fails more times than it works).

I like Foyth and Tanganga since in my head this season a write off I'd try them and give them a run in the team but it won't happen

I agree with the first part of your post. Toby & Jan are showing their lack of speed, and their positioning and last ditch defending isn’t working as effectively as previously.

However, Foyth is a total liability - if even Jenas can see he’s making errors every game, then it really should be obvious.

In my opinion, we need to change the entire back 4 if Rose is off. Davies is a capable stand in, as is Sanchez, but we need top quality all across the back, with speed, strength and for the fullbacks, the ability to cross the ball from wide positions. (The crossing against Southampton was woeful).

I understand the clamour for a CDM, but we really need to look at the leaky defence. No point in putting a lid on a colander.

The way I see it, whoever goes down, there will be players of similar quality available for less.

Norwich: Godfrey
Bournemouth: Ake
Villa: Mings
West Ham: Diop

Of or more of those team will be going down to why not go for one of them?

I agree. Looks like a bit of a donkey every time I see him play. Doesn’t exactly inspire a calm confidence or imposing presence.
