We played shit plenty of times with Dembele too. I agree he is a unique and special player but we still never won anything!

Not to worry, we have NDOMBELE now! If only he keeps fit and is at ?, he will outscore Dembele, can killer pass/assist too, make things happen and playmake the shit out of us. Young as well.

he was so good in the middle 3rd. not much in the final 3rd but he was so reliable at regaining possession and driving us forward 20 or 30 yards on the dribble.

This is true, but come on, how sexy would our CM be right now with this gracious animal in there. One of the very best and Jose would have adored him. That strength, press resistance, power, tackling ability. So rare and why so many other CMs we played next to him looked way better than they actually were.

It's funny, me and friend were just saying if only he was still here, i then added Ledley in to the equation and became far too excited.

Two different players, they would have complimented each other so well and been a right mouthful at the same time. Both excel in the areas the other is weaker in.

Over a year before he left it seemed a large number of posters on here did not rate him as highly as they do now. "moves the ball too slowly", "does not score enough", "passes sideways" ...etc.

There is definitely similarities to them as well. Both strong on the ball and can turn out of trouble, often breaking the line. Their movement when twisting and turning away from an opponent (or two) isn't that far apart either.

One of the finest players I've seen in a Spurs shirt. An immense presence.

But yeah, no point wishing for these sorts of things. You may as well wish for Gazza.

That's the only similar feature.

Dembele was way better defensively, great at recovering the ball, rarely anyone would get past him and way stronger when defending. Whereas Ndombele is a better passer and finisher, way more dangerous in the final third.

He is still the missing piece

When we had him, I couldn't hear the end of people complaining about his slow sideways passing. Apparently he slowed down our build up with unnecessary dribbles too!!!

I for one loved him and firmly believe that failure to replace him led to pochettino getting the sack

The number of opponents falling on their backsides as he glides past them.. made Kanté look silly in coupla clips there..

If only we had a fair and sensible approach to the game from the corrupt and useless bastards who deign to run it.
