If Berba has to go to Real Madrid or Barca who would you take in a swap deal?

Building on the thread suggesting that Berba will go abroad if he does leave us, and that Real or Barca are possible suitors, who would you have from either of those teams in a swap deal?

Yes, I know swap deals rarely happen so this is more for fun. Let's assume their player(s) can't say no to the move and it has to be in the ballpark of Berba's valuation. You can have more than one lesser player if the total is close to Berba's valuation....

I'd take Casillas or Eto'o but what do I know... :)

(If I missed a similar thread already lock and )

From Barca i'd take Xavi, Iniesta, Eto'o, Ronaldinho and probably Messi (clearly not gonna happen).

From Real Casillas, Ruud, Robben, Sneijder.

Probably in both cases I would be looking for more than one player.

Ronaldinho & Eto'o, just a pipe dream or reality?

Robinho and Sergio Ramos for Madrid.

Eto'o, without a doubt, purely because we will have already replaced Berba, so we'd never have been without a world class striker.

We rate at Eto'o £25m and Ronaldinho £10m. We rate Berbatov at £35m. Lucky that.

Swapsies anyone :shifty:

I love how realistic this thread is....

If this actually did happen though, Casilas would be amazing, Ruud, Eto'o, Messi...

But were living in a dream world...

Realistically (as in, players they may actually let go) -

Barca:

Eto'o
Marquez

Real:

Soldado
Saviola
Robben
Metzelder
Drenthe
Sneijder (unlikely but )

Obviously not all straight swaps, some would be player + cash.

well if we got granero plus drenthe or metzelder from real plus cash we'd lose in one position and fill 2: CM and LM/LB or CB

After last nights performance, Casillas. His penalty save was arousing.

I think that Diarra will leave in the summer so might be worth trying to get him as he is the sort of player we could use. I'd like Gago and Yaya Toure too. Metzelder is another player who hasn't played alot for Real this season and is a player I'd like or Marquez.

Im sure there would be a couple of players from either team they would like to use as a makeweight in such a deal, however I doubt any of the players in and around either clubs first team would be willing to come to us.

By this I mean, if these players were told they were no longer wanted and should leave they may well (imo) have ambitions of joining a club they percieve to be bigger then us. Unless Ramos has a major allure to players who know him from his exploits in LA Liga
