You only have to look at the way Pleat was treated recently to see how much respect is around. It’s just money. If it was more financially beneficial to be relegated and stay in the championship we would get relegated to achieve the financial rewards of it. There are foreign owners with far more love of the game than ENIC. If they could sell our European trophies or double winner medals for a few million and get away with it they would. They even tried to move us to Stratford, no one who loves Spurs would ever, ever do that.

The only good that can ever come from ENIC ownership is when the fans priorities and the priorities of ENIC line up. At the moment that consists of staying in the prem and trying to get European qualification.
I’m not even sure about the European qualification now they have their stadium

A major part of why I’m getting to the stage of being done with attending home games as the match day experience has drastically changed: its like a theme park attraction and in many ways it simply is.

The warning signs were there with that vibe which was evident when we played at Wembley Stadium from 2017-2019. A corporate, plastic, night club vibe mixed with the keep them sweet with the video montage of those glory days feel.

There was a sense of relief thinking home at last when the new stadium fully opened up officially for Palace at home.

I live in Devon and travel up when I can and luckily enough have seen some decent performances in the past, however, the atmosphere at the ground is more sterile than ever.

It’s now become an ordeal and part of a normalisation which I find quite depressing. The concerning thing is I’ve become so disconnected with this club that I’m considering not renewing my ST and not even being a member next year.

I’ve emptied my seat a few times this season as well as not paying more to attend home cup games knowing that I will not bother at all from next season.

It’s perhaps a mixture of now realising nothing is going to change at the club with Levy and ENIC, fans continuously being taken for mugs, being distracted with the every 18 months head coach in / out debate, conned into thinking that the next project will work then not and praying for a transformation in numerous transfer windows.

The thing that is increasingly disheartening in that stadium is the actual football club has become an additional product, package and artefact which happened to play on the same land as this state of the art venue.

It’s sad especially when you have a look around the ground as you can see the emotional and financial commitment those fans give just being there.
I’m the same although my time up came in the conte era….which was a sad day for me as it was precious father son time but we both felt the same, that and the fact he was on the verge of starting his own family so that time would be tight anyway. I despise Levy for making me feel this way and the fact that I look at our results now and don’t feel anything. I long for the day when, once again, I do…..

Hate to say a few of us are now saying “we told you so” (not you, just in general), just hope something changes so we can enjoy our club again and have some hope back

In their defence I do think a lot of fans supported Levy because they genuinely had faith and trust in his word and for whatever reason the few seasons in the mid 90’s scarred some fans so much under Sugar than anything was better, a sort of PTSD that never left them.

I have never personally liked the man, his treatment of Jol, the Stratford horror show, the total lack of interest when Redknapp was around and we could have won the league with 2-3 good signings that never came and the completely coldness to everything.

However I could see that he was clearly a talented businessman, his credentials would always keep and grow the club financially and with the new infrastructure put the club on a good base. Now the infrastructure is done I don’t see what he brings anymore, we have sacrificed success for solid finances and assets but we are a football club not a property company.

True, but it’s the reasons I would like to examine. If you think Ange is not a very good hire then naturally you’re going to be annoyed with Levy as it’s another bad hire by him. If you think Ange is great and it’s really none of his fault for why we are where we are then at least give Levy some credit for hiring him and sticking by him. But you won’t see that, what you’ll see, like o said, is when Ange is sacked people will be saying “it’s all Levy’s fault” and will assume the position the people took who didn’t like Ange, I.e he was a bad hire to begin with.

But all roads lead to Rome don’t they if you’re a raging Levy Outer.
I think this really only works if you take Ange in isolation, as though he is the only manager Levy has appointed. In that scenario you're right, it is illogical that he gains no credit from either position.

However, it's not Ange in isolation - it is a litany of managers, all with different styles, philosophies, levels of experience, age profiles, formations and proclivities... over the course of about 24 years.

All of that gives one the suspicion that the board doesn't have the first idea about football or how to run a successful (on the pitch) football club.

The Pochettino appointment increasingly looks like the case of a fucked clock being right twice a day.

So, Levy can be criticised for both hiring Ange and firing Ange (hypothetical). Because he should have known that he would be a poor fit for the club, because he has a very specific system that requires specific players and thus requires serious backing... which the board would never provide... which they should have known... and so on. It makes the appointment look like just another wild stab in the dark. I think a number of fans fear, not unreasonably, that if Ange is sacked he will be replaced by another seemingly random appointment with no thought to how said manager will actually fit.

See also, Conte, Jose and whatever-the-fuck they expected Nuno to be.

It is not easy owning / running a football club and there are plenty of example of clubs that are run a lot worse than us and you also need some luck like Chlesea and Jose, Liverpool and Klopp; just look at United post-Ferguson. The problem with Levy / ENIC is that football is not the priority and nor are the fan base. On paper we have an excellent platform to succeed with the stadium and training facilities but unless the Lewis family want to treat us as bragging right amongst their circle of billionaire friends which probably need Joe to step back we need new owners which is a lottery in itself and we all know Levy won't budge on the value of the club 😥

Our only hope is the recent young signings evolve into at least one world class player 🤞

So sad to see there’s a feeling of almost apathy amongst the fan base now. We’re so worn down as a fan base there’s almost nothing left.
This is why the exchange is full of tickets and oppo fans are littered everywhere on the stadium...people just can’t be fucked with it.

The results have been fucking atrocious of late, yet there’s still no real backlash towards the owners. Even after yet another defeat yesterday the overriding response from many on here is ‘at least we didn’t lose heavily’ or ‘at least we showed some fight’.

That’s what we’ve been reduced to and it’s disgusting.

Even for the Semi final Wednesday the ticket sales are not looking great. The one game where we really need the crowd as well , almost conceded defeat before a balls been kicked.

Look, I don’t want any motherfucker moaning about ENIC unless they’re a Welsh rugby fan. If you’re not you haven’t got the first fucking idea about how bad something can be run.

Seeing as you know, I can take this thoughtful post on board but the rest of you can fuck off.

I would have gone as I automatically buy cup tickets with my season ticket but will be in Asia but will undoubtedly get up at 4am to follow the game somehow ................ happy to transfer my ticket to a real Spurs fan if I can (sorry if this is the wrong thread)

Aren't the tickets just going on general sale? I'm sure the club has no say in who is buying them. It's up to the stewards to check on entry they cover up the shirts and have a word inside if caught cheering on the opponent. Anyway I'm not sure opponents in our end is the worst of our problems. It's more important to sort the first team performances out. Then tickets will be snapped up ahead of general sale and opposition fans wouldn't want to attend. Also the home atmosphere would be better and drown them out. Besides the main issue people really have is them cheering with us losing so if we win more we can enjoy giving them stick instead.

the tickets are not going on general sale. You need membership. The stewards confirmed this upon asking them.

sorry but it is important. It's part of making the stadium home. And paying what we do is it too much to ask to be sat around fellow fans

Interesting, so I wonder how they get hold of the tickets. Still we greatly outnumber them anyway so I'm not too fussed myself. I'm more concerned with how the team are doing.

It's hardly like we're the first to have away fans in home ends is it? You'll always get one or two getting through.

You're right and I have no idea exactly how bad it is, but if it's indeed getting worse then it needs looking at before there's an incident (and that's only a matter of time)

I don't disagree if it is indeed getting worse, but some make it sound like we're the first club these things have happened to when we're not.

That's your imagination as no one said that. It's always happened, always will. Just happens to be something that is becoming very common, each week, with noticeable numbers. That isn't something that I've ever noticed before and I've been going to football every other week for 30 years.
