What's new

I love (hate) Daniel Levy, please don’t mention him anywhere else!

Agree. I'm kinda sat on the fence about forcing him out, especially as I'm nervous about who could replace him but I HATE it when people discourage those who want to take action about something by saying "won't achieve anything". Why pour water on someone else's fire just because you're too lazy to do anything! These things definitely have some kind of impact, and can spark bigger movements. Maybe it won't work, maybe it will. But let people try.

I would've been nervous say 10-15 years ago, but the good work hes done on the stadium and financially, give him credit where its due, and with the rules coming into play....it can only get better in my opinion with new owners.

We all know he's the issue. We all knows it s a business to him and about shareholders profit margins. Winning trophies is way down the list of priorities. The fact we still need to discuss this is ridiculous. Levy does not care what fans think
Just watch the documentary again if you're unsure. Until enic sells or until we get a manager who can man manage and motivate above and beyond what is imaginable we aren't winning anything but the audi Cup. We need to attract top players not youth for the future who will leave when they're good enough. We've seen it for 10+ years. Harry R got us to the CL and how have we progressed since then?
Apologies for the rant.

He’s delivered the infrastructure. Well done, good job. Is there a next phase of the plan? Seemingly, no. There’s no direction at all. Ange is a punt. The youth signings are a punt. We are not serious about competing. Levy does not have a plan. That has been clear since Nuno was hired, and became crystal clear when he failed to spend in summer 2022 and Conte fucked off.

If you’re not competing at the top and you want to compete at the top, you have to spend MORE than the clubs currently competing to reach their level. At least in the short term. And you have to be prepared to write off some of that spending, because it won’t all work out. Levy will never do that.

He's done a lot to get the Club to where it is but its time for Levy to go.

There is no real ambition to win, only financial objectives to set and meet.

This was olways going to come to a head.

The real fans (not tourists) need to put the pressure on, eventually that will tell.

where is the optimistic rating lol. Levy is more interested in everythng apart from the football side now. Since the new stadium he couldnt give a shit about the footballing side now.

No, I mean it can only get better if we get a new chairman/new owners.

He's done a good job for the club, whatever else you think of him. It's probably time to hand over control and when he does, whatever success we achieve will be partially his doing. Our stature has increased immensely under his stewardship and that will undoubtably play a big part in any success going forward.

Change is always scary and I often worry about who will take over but I think the key thing to remember is the one thing that has often been forgotten of late, and that is to dare is to do. Tottenham Hotspur were never meant to play safe and neither were we as fans. There needs to be a serious sign of ambition at this club, whether that's from Levy or somebody else.

He could pull a rabbit of a transfer out of the hat and people would say 'ooh that's ambition' but it'd only be short term, a pacifier and he shouldn't and hopefully won't get away with that. If we are ever to be a club that has a genuine ambition, it won't be under Levy. He's shot his bolt now.

Whenever I have seen the title of this thread in “new posts” today, all I’ve been able to think about is 1991 number 4 hit “I love to hate you” by Erasure.

And seeing as I’ve had it stuck in my head most of the day as a result, I felt strongly that everyone else should too. Enjoy.

There never has been.
‘Arry was a parachute manager who worked out better than he expected and it worked out well for DL with the England debacle.
Poch had just over a calendar year at Soton spread over two seasons before we appointed him, again another managerial punt which worked for DL with the players at his disposal and then the now infamous ‘18 months of no incomings’ after showing he was right up there as one of the best teams in the country.
Then two marquee managers come in, two serial winners, knowing full well what their demands and expectations would be and you then don’t back them.
And get rightly called out.
It just makes the club look stupid though.
Nothing ever changes, who honestly was excited when we were initially linked with Ange? I like the guy but he’ll carry on toeing the line till he gets to a cup final and will probably get sacked or DL feels the need for a new scapegoat to take the heat off his arse for another twelve months.
As supporters we all know what the problem is at our club, I just wish the media would run a few more articles on it but then they’d probably be barred access to the club.

The stadium was his get out of jail free card. Now it's here, Covid is in the rear-view and we're going along exactly as we did pre-stadium (doing just enough but no more), patience is wearing thin.
For some of us it's already gone and couldn't give a monkey's anymore.

Lots of people want rid of them but they’re too apathetic or have more important things going on in their lives to give it the energy that would be required to make a real difference.

I could give up my season tickets in protest but someone else would just take them so it’s pretty pointless unless I have to either financially or I get fed up going in the future.

Maybe I’ll just go back to buying nothing else in the stadium. Possibly that’s the best way to do it. If everyone who went didn’t buy anything in there for a few games I’m sure they’d notice.
60,000 people to buy nothing in game for a few games is about as likely as Megan Foxx, Jennifer Lawerence and Michelle Keegan all turning up at my house tomorrow and confessing their love for me.

Dont be so negative!

2 will come, 3 is a push!

But seriously - It doesnt have to be 60,000. If 15-20k dont buy anything for a few games it will make a huge difference to him. I'm sure in the Nuno era we was only getting 50-55k fans.
