Slot winning the league, is another slap in the face for his ‘judgment’.

Slot might be a better manager than Ange but I’d be shocked if he wasn’t running into all sort of nightmares with us. We ain’t a top 4 side, better than 11th yes but the squad is poorly balanced particularly for an any manager that wants to dominate in a high press. Our forward line is full of players who aren’t good at holding the ball or linking with perhaps Solanke being the exception. We are much better suited to a sit deep and counter style. That isn’t the managers fault that the clubs and Slot likes to control and attack not sit and counter.

I would actually say Moyes would be a good fit for the current situation not that I would want to watch that style.

Levy has made this club a poisoned chalice for any manager. They all know by now they don't have a chance of success at Spurs.

Sure, a coach like Ange or previously Slot would still come - it's a stepping stone for them on to potentially better things, or in Ange's case, likely the only chance he'll ever get to prove himself at the top level.

But any decent, established manager would run a mile from Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and specifically Mr Daniel Levy.

For the first time since I can remember (so 1990) I didn’t really get excited about scoring against Chelsea, nor did the end result bother me emotionally. I’m generally a heart on my sleeve, passionate, 100% invested kick every ball fan. I’ve been a season ticket holder since I got my first paycheck, which ironically was the year the cretin took over. This is what ENIC has done to me. It’s a sad sad state of affairs. I feel a little broken.

The opening goals were met with a surprised "Oh," from me, the end result with a resigned shrug.

At least I am consistently making money off the club now.

they failed on the cheese. It was a step too far.

I don’t think it is a ridiculous thing to say that since the stadium has been built, we have gone backwards as a club. Sure it makes lots of money but has it made us any better as a football team or as a club?

I am not sure. It doesn’t feel like it to me.

I don’t think the stadium itself makes any difference. Arsenal miss Highbury but now they are good the feeling is good. We have just been so poorly run since the stadium build that everyone has lost hope.

Where the stadium is a concern is now Levy is making so much revenue and now the league is so competitive it might be no longer needed to make Europe anymore. We might be better financially being mid table now rather than 4th as coming 4th in this current environment could mean a lot of transfer and wage spending which would be too much for Levy. So the stadium might give the opportunity to make us more average for Daniel. 10th might be the new 4th.

There’s an old saying in the states when it comes to business “shit rolls down hill”, referring to the tops decision impacting everything on the way down.

Levy took us to the next tier, credit to him, it’s time for someone to take us to the next because this man has capped out his ability in a market where owners have changed than what he was competing with 15 years ago. If you don’t got oil, oligarch or next level PE money (I’m talking Guggenheim or Fenway), then you’re nothing but a big fish in a small pond. We got people sportswashing through their clubs for Christs sake.

Sell the team because anyone that is going to buy it will want to invest simply based on the expected price tag.

edit: delusional take — I want Mark Cuban, Steve Ballmer or someone who’s all in on the fans and burning cash for a title.

Well yes the next tier in terms of infrastructure but we are a football club and one that historically used to win things. I want the next tier to be actually competitive again and not the butt of everyone’s jokes.

Heres the thing about our job, no top manager will touch it regardless of a 10mil + pay packet, because at this point they all know that whatever BS Levy tries to serve em is just BS. The proof is in the pudding

We occasionally won things. Let’s not pretend winning things was a regular thing.
I am one of those wankers who still support Levy, and I do believe that he does things with the clubs best interests at heart. I also believe that he has tried very hard to help the club win things.

I will concede though, that despite all the good he has done for the club. The growth of the premier league has moved faster than Levy has been able to grow the club.

It seems what the majority want, is for an owner that will simply plough unlimited funds into the football club.
That is fine, but I wouldn’t say it would make us a better run club.
And if Levy were to leave today, sure he would say he wished he could help the club win more, but ultimately he would have left the club in a much better state than when he acquired it.
I’m sure he would have plenty of offers from other clubs.

It’s all depressingly familiar. We’ve been through this cycle so many times now - things go badly on the pitch, fans get angry, there are some Levy out chants, Levy fires another manager and brings in the next poor bastard he’s going to fuck over, things get better for a while and people largely forget their anger. And repeat.

He’s going nowhere because they’re making too much money from us. And they know they can completely take us for granted. You don't renew your season ticket, you can bet your life that someone else will take it. I think the only thing that might hit him is playing in front of an empty stadium but it’s a pipe dream. It would take all ST holders to not go and to not list their seat. I think we could make the atmosphere as toxic as we like and he wouldn’t even blink. Like I say, depressing

Agree 90% with this but he is a human being and if we truly made it very toxic week after week, whole stadium chanting against him it would force his hand in some sort of direction, it started to happen a bit under Stellini but news of an attacking manager in Ange eventually cooled our jets after 4-5 years of defensive toxic managers, now we’ve come full circle but even more of our fans and the media realise Levy is the common denominator, I do think if there were tons of banners in the ground and protests and chants in the ground then it could make him think twice about finally stepping down but I just don’t think our fans would do that unfortunately and if he is sitting fairly comfortably in his executive chair then he’ll keep to his playbook and rinse and repeat.

Think I saw some say they wouldn't have John Textor or someone like that I'm control.

Well Botafogo have just done the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian Championship double today.

Textor took over in 2022 and has been super active in and around the club.

He nearly did it last season if it wasn't for the coach bailing for Saudi money whilst they were cruising to the title.

But this season he got a very capable coach in and they've done it. Smart recruitment and ambitious.

Meanwhile, the current top 3 PL clubs are all American owned. Bournemouth too (who are ambitious for their size - sell Solanke, sign Evanilson - fire O'Neil bring in Iraloa with a plan).

They generally come with ambition to win or at least leave a mark.

We have a bean counter. A bean counter whose methods have long since been surpassed by even the likes of Brentford and Brighton (we've copied them ffs).

I'll take my chances with an American owner thanks.

I for one miss the old white hart lane and would love to be back in the south stand with a reasonably priced ticket and some crap sausage roll and lukewarm pint at half time.

The new stadium raised expectations and instead we’ve gone backwards - it’s clear the real money for levy is in us being an all purpose events franchise and property opportunities from redeveloping the area
