Hugo Lloris has said that Friday's defeat at West Ham was the result of complacency and not being strong enough mentality, describing the performance at the London Stadium as "difficult to accept."

Truer words couldn't have been spoken. I'm really annoyed today. Annoyed at our complacency (once again) expecting a team to turn over, annoyed at West Ham for playing anti football and really really annoyed at the West Hamfansfor celebrating like they'd won the bloody league. We need to realise that teams will not roll over for us and maximum effort is always required if we're ever going to win anything.

We've all been here before though haven't we. We really need to start learning from these obvious banana skins. Sure, it was always going to be tough to win every game, but this was one that we definitely should have won. Everyone knew that Spam would be well up for this and would treat it like their pathetic cup final. Everyone it seems, but the team and management that is...

Couldn't be more frustrating and embarrassing, yet again. Just hope that they don't now capitulate like last season. Would be unforgivable if they do, especially after last time.

Trouble being I do expect us to fold up a bit after last night's disaster it's familiar territory for us.

Im not sure I accept this 'complacency' stuff. Even if that was true before the game, the first 20 minutes would have dispelled it as West Ham looked lively and dangerous every time they came forward, we were struggling to contain them. By comparison we looked sluggish and slow, lots of sideways passing in midfield, or back to the keeper, and no real incision in going forward.

The worry from this game was that, though the entire team was playing badly, the two players who had not committed to us for longer term -- Walker and Alderweireld -- played their worst game of the season. Hope their minds were not somewhere else.

We played poorly no doubt
and Captain Hugo does us a disservice
after 9 straight wins and the usurping of Arsenal after 22 years
by pouring petrol on the old mental strength diversion.
For once few of our team played well.
Bu our record stands any scrutiny over two seasons
Perhaps it lost a little in translation.
We got our tactics wrong and Mauricio his substitutions.
The build up was too slow.
They cancelled out our attack with blanket defence
and grabbed a goal.
Nothing to do with complacency and what's in our heads.
Blame the W:Ham curse, the big pitch, Friday night or whatever
and I am gutted that it was W:Ham that did for us on this one.
But we are going to come second to a moneybags team
doing it 'our way' and this was a blip.
If it were mentality then we wouldn't be where we are.

At no point does he say they were complacent in the sense that they assumed they would roll spam over... It's that they needed to push more and show more urgency and energy - something that anyone watching would have said also....

So Hugo is gutted...
I have been bombarded with texts, telephone calls, emails etc etc from semi retarded West Ham and Arsenal fans telling me we bottled it, how they ended our title hopes and how th played us of the park.
I am considering suicide tbh

We have had an excellent season, but again lack the quality in depth.

Lack of depth? Against a shit, for most of the season, West Ham that didn't have striker and their best player out? Not having that!!!

Being harsh, but realistic, if it's true they don't want to stay then we should get rid or else they could poison the minds of our young players!!!

Hugo is dead right. He seems to be the one who truly understands what is required. OK, we were playing catch up, again, but if the team really wants it they have to leave every ounce on the pitch, Friday if was evident they didn't. Another brutal football lesson hopefully learned.

A number of things went wrong, but winning runs have to come to an end and it's often that the team has become stale. The good thing is that we bounce back as if we've been rebooted, usually. I hope the last word in that sentence holds true.

It is bloody hard to win every game, how likely was it to match the record run of wins by any PL team? Was a tight game that could have gone either way in the same way Palace and Swansea were. Obviously gutted but as long as we come back strong against Utd I will accept it.

The result was partly due to our weakness of strength in depth, a long season and pressure of having to keep on winning. When we can get to a semi final and rest Kane and Dele for sixty minutes as Chel$ea did with Costa and Hazard then perhaps you will understand what i meant.

Until then continue to be an angry, self entitled young man.

The fact is that when you are so disappointed at coming second, with a shot at a trophy should Chelski win the FA Cup, only shows how far we've come.
Disappointed but far from hysterical.

I'm waiting to see our reaction from this defeat... If we crumble like last season then they're some serious questions to ask....we must show good character and a commitment to win our remaining games.
