They may have lost out to Liverpool on the night but Tottenham Hotspur’s run to a first ever Champions League final came with a consolation prize: they are now London’s richest club.

Spurs’ best ever European campaign helped grow revenue by 21 per cent to £459.3m (€521.1m), taking them above rivals Chelsea and Arsenal to eighth place in Deloitte’s latest Football Money League.

This is a brilliant result for Levy. I remember 5 or so seasons ago we had half the revenue of Arsenal and Chelsea. Today's game is all about money and while we are not paying as much yet as other clubs, by putting us on an equal financial footing with these clubs means we can long continue to compete long term and keep our better players. Look at Kane, Dele, Toby etc, no way 5 years ago would we have been able to keep them because they could earn so much more elsewhere.

Poch deserves a lot of credit for this too.

Once Levy gets the sponsorship in place should see us stay up there and also attract more quality.

cool, we can get heaps more loan players
I think with the prices as mad as they are and even madder wages, the loan system will soon be the preferred model. As will the bosman, as players will want massive signing bonuses and wages.

Taking one year's revenue as a guide to the "richest" club is purely idiotic.

Save yourself the effort of a click.
