I was 16 yrs and 11 months . . . . . . when we beat MU 4-1 at OT in 1972 and I was there. Unfortunately I had to leg it out of the ground at 3-1, I didn't know we had won 4-1 until I managed to get back to Manchester Piccadilly Station and saw the score on the Manchester Pink, (evening scores) I had just left school in July that year. Not too many happy days up there after that. I met Martin Peters in 1998 - In the Billy Nick suite at WHL where he was a greeter. I said to him something along the lines of I remember you in the 66 WC final but more importantly I remember the 4 goals you got that day. I had just got back into Mum and Dads house to see MOTD, The fare that day from Euston - Manchester on the football special was £3.00 IIRC.
Nearly 40 yrs ago. I feel ancient.

I wasn't born...

Wert - Where was ye in August - I back back in Ireland, on the 2nd I was in Waterford city, went to Smyth's because
it was our son's 9th birhday and from there went back into the city centre to Argos & Maccy D's.

The town of my birth hasn't changed too much - apart from the foreigners LOL

2 for me as we'll.

But fuck it, the Mendes game counts, and the game where that piece of filth nani nicked the ball is void in my eyes too.

Today was excellent thought.

Not from the City, TCO. But ya, there's a lot of Eastern Europeans here. They're a nice bunch though and no worse than most of the locals.

I take it it was raining when you were here? Don't think we got more than two consecutive days of sunshine over the "summer".

Spent 28 days in Wexford, July/Aug .... 5 beach days - although I think it actually rained every day at some point. No bother.
I have just been in touch with my cousins son who lives in Dungarvan - I didn't even know the fellah existed - until I "met him" on fb a few days ago.

Just finished watching motd on the iplayer - Feels real good !

I was 7, but my parents weren't into football so I only started supporting spurs at about age 10.
