I must admit, I was one of the people calling Moussa Sissoko clumsy, overrated and a waste of money two years ago.

Now, I am genuinely delighted when I see his name in the starting lineup. He is the only player we have who can drive the ball forward, the full length of the pitch, with more energy than anyone else, after 80 mins when everyone else is knackered. Sometimes he barges an opposition player off the ball and bursts forward at a time where we really need a boost, that I literally giggle with excitement on the sofa.

Well played, Moussa. You really have changed my mind these last couple of years.

I have been culpable for calling for his imminent transfer because he doesn't fit the mould of a 'Tottenham player'; a player who is technically gifted, clever in his movement and determined in his actions. I am pleased (and apologetic) that he has turned his whole game around & become a mainstay in the team. The box-to-box capabilities that he has is super-important for how we operate & will continue to operate going forward.

Sissoko needs competition for his place in the shape of N'dombele, or Lo Celso to keep him sharp, as well as a rotational option because he's very important.

The stark transformation has been such that even my father bemoans his absence. The biggest compliment that I can pay this express-train of a man is the sheer terror of watching him pulling up with a hammy & wondering how we would cope.
