Watching Sigurdsson, Eriksen and Bentaleb in a midfield 3 against this year's fucking champions convinced me that Sherwood is done. Bring on LVG, not that I much care anymore.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Any man that looks at our back four and thinks we don't need to play a proper DM at Anfield against an on fire Suarez & Sturridge isn't likely to go on and become a good manager.

Our bench consisted of walking wounded. Would you have liked Tim to have gambled on the fitness of Sandro like he did with Dembele against Soton?

How about at the very least play a CM3. I wouldn't have even minded if he'd brought in Veljkovic or Dombaxe as the DMand played Bentaleb and Dembele either side.

But Bentaleb and Sigurdsson as a CM2 away at Liverpool with Lennon and Eriksen ahead of them was tactically idiotic. Schoolboy stuff.

I'd rather he gambled on Sandro at HT when we were only 2-0 when it was incredibly clear that we needed somebody shielding the back 4.

I probably would have risked Sandro from the start considering we had to pick up something from the game to keep our (slim) hopes of top 4 going.

Dembele's fitness was presumably a concern; Veljkovic is a possibility, but do you really want to give a player his debut against the likely champions in a must win match? That is not fair on the player.

Dombaxe looks likely to be released, along with Gallifuoco. There really are not a lot of youngsters pushing to break through at the moment. The best are on loan or have been sold.

Like I say I do not think Tim really had much in the way of options.

It was hara kiri from kamikaze tim.

Actually, if you imagine a kamikaze pilot furiously nose diving to the ground, slipping in a swift little hara kiri number on himself before the plane hits - that'd be it.

Like I say, he did.

It couldn't get any worse if our manager punched one of his players in the face.

Oh..

This is part of the reason I've lost all confidence in Sherwood.

Playing Siggy as one of two deep-lying CMs is as idiotic as when Redknapp played Niko Kranjcar there. Siggy has the physical presence of a twig in a hurricane.

Bentaleb at least moves the ball quickly, is mobile, tenacious and tactically very aware for a 19-year-old. But he needs defensive help in there.

I'm not convinced Paulinho's best position in English football is as one of a CM2 but he plays there successfully for Brazil, and Chadli has played in a CM3 for Belgium. Playing any 3 of Bentaleb, Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho and Chadli centrally would have made Liverpool's job much harder, and with Eriksen's football brain available we could still have been a threat.

If you watch their third goal again from the angle behind our goal, Bentaleb is left all alone against several runners. Even a half-fit Sandro would never have allowed Coutinho the space to stroll up to the edge of our box without facing so much as a flea's challenge. Indeed, Coutinho would probably have ended in a crumpled heap on the grass as Sandro - with his positional awareness and strength in the tackle - strolled away with the ball and a satisified hunter gatherer grin on his face....

Reverse angle of third goal about 2'12" in:

Paulinho not even on the bench. What was he thinking when he thought siggy or bentaleb was going to play against Liverpool. A 50% fit sandro, 80% fit dembele and an off form Paulinho would have protected the back 4. He keeps playing Lennon too, dam i an upset and fed up.
lost interest watching spurs now. Honestly DL is to blame for this really, and if he gives Tim another season i stop watching our games as i feel my beloved club is cheating on me.

well i am taking it to far, however DL needs to act sharp, i don't care if we don't have a manager for the last 6 games as yesterday showed we not currently have one.

Please can someone tell me why a football manager sits crossed leg in the stand when his team are getting flogged and believe he needs to see the players not preforming at the stand view.

So to answer the OP's question as to how this can get worse I bring you exhibit A from today's Daily Fail....

"Despite Sunday’s 4-0 defeat at Liverpool, Levy still wants Sherwood to succeed as manager.
The 40-year-old former academy coach is planning for next season and has detailed a number of transfer targets to turn round the club’s fortunes."
