A fascinating insight into how transfers really work. The article debunks a lot of myths and will help give all of us a little more perspective in future hopefully.

So, how much did we pay for Sissoko?

P.S. Forget it. I don't think I want to know.

However, no club takes “net spend” into account when conducting business

Yeah... Whatever... We know from multiple seasons worth of evidence, that we do business based entirely on net spend.

Having just read the news about Walker, it occurred to me that the agents involved would have agreed and prepared a contract for the player to sign. That being so, these players whose names are being bandied about must know about it as they just won't accept signing up to something unless they have agreed.
So just how do these transfers really work? Does anyone know just when a player being discussed between clubs get involved? Are some of these players being disingenuous when it comes to transfers?

Blimey Chelseas 15 year 900 million pound new Nike deal would pay for our stadium over.

Also kudos to Hartlepool for being the only club in England not to pay an agent fee last year!
