Guy gets them to the Premier league on a limited budget and is booted out after 8 games! Absolutley ridiculous imo

Sad indictment of football money madness these days.

And of course Arsenal's next game is.......

By all accounts Holloway offered his resignation rather than it being the boot, raised the white flag, think the Prem is just too much for him..

Victim of his own success in a way. Got them up too soon. The squad's nowhere near good enough and probably needed another season or two of building before being fully ready for the step up. Even Freedman could see that and that's why he left. Seems a fairly pointless exit really as Palace are likely doomed with or without Holly.

One positive is that the change might lead to a temporary bump in form for Palace ahead of the Arsenal game this weekend; though I doubt it. The squad is just so weak. This season's Swindon potentially. I'm mainly hoping that the Arse don't extend their already significant GD advantage over us by too much as I foresee a possible cricket score with this one.

Freedman did the majority of the work last season. Holloway turns up when Palace are flying and they barely make the play offs in the end. Holloway's record at Palace, not including this season is pretty mediocre. Winning the play offs though is an achievement.

I don't like him or rate him to be honest. Made some poor signings over the summer too. Better options out there for Palace I would have thought.

Hopefully Palace have someone lined up and they are in before Saturday and as mentioned above, it gives them a boost before the goons turn up.

He joined them when they were flying high at the top of the league, they had a poor end to the season and only took one of the last playoff spots in the end. Form-wise it was a surprise they went up, but that's knock out football for you (they also had an outstanding player at that level in Zaha remember). Then signs more players than he has squad places for, alienates players both old and new as he has to try and select 25 names for the squad. Results have continued to be bad, they are woefully out of their depth and he gives the impression of suffering a complete mental disintegration at any moment.

Hardly surprising he has gone.

Exactly. Three games of knock out football is why they are where they are. The rest of his spell has been very, very average.

Out of his depth. Bought poor players, hasn't built a team, keeps losing, can't hack it any more. Tries to hide behind the humorous front and is failing big time.

He's not a Premier League manager..... simple as that really.
Completely out of his depth.
Thing is, they weren't really prepared for top flight football, and are still a good few years away from being able to hold their own. Of course the plus side to them going down is that they'll still be financially solid.

Freedman left in October. Hardly 'the majority of the work'.

Crazy decision - the Palace fans loved him being in charge, but then again, isn't their chairman a proper Palace fan too, and they love him? Will create a split, no doubt, but the biggest question is who will they get in to replace him?

No way Di Canio, his ability to alienate and upset dozens of employees at once should surely put him out of the running. Considering the fan/Ollie relationship, it'd be like replacing Florence Nightingale with Josef Mengele, surely?

Freedman built the side that went up.

Prior to this season, Palace under Holloway went w13 d13 l11. Hardly earth shattering. It seemed for the last two months of last season that Place were trying their hardest to fall out the play off places!

Arsenal's luck is really unbelievable

Palace were hardly ever going to beat Arsenal on the weekend. To be honest, I'm holding out for that "new manager syndrome" thing that sometimes happens. Doubt it, but who knows?

Regardless, he was well liked at the club, even if he's a goofball. I can't see much hope for them staying up even if it's only a quarter of the way into the season or so.
