How do you know what the clubs intentions are for this window?
Or should we just be moaning whenever another club looks to be signing someone because "we should have signed them"?

The euros are soon, which will slow down a fair bit of market movement and as has been said, the window hasn't even opened yet but we've already made a loan signing and have cleared a fair bit of "deadwood".

It really does feel like pre-emptive moaning for the sake of moaning tbh.
If we do all our business early, they'll be moaning in the last few weeks of the window when there are no further signings.

Whether these clubs have signed these players or not, Arsenal were heavily going for Sesko, Chelsea and United are trying for Olise and Liverpool are trying for Ederson - the fact we don't really have any really strong rumours that collectively we feel will upgrade the squad, I feel is cause for concern, whether the window is open yet or not.

I'll always properly judge at the end of the window but I just feel Ito is a missed opportunity to have strongly gone for to have essentially 2 positions sorted for the start of pre season, for a good fee.
I think if your metric for other clubs making signings is the quantity or validity of transfer rumours, then you are destined for disappointment. You only need to throw in a small amount of confirmation bias to make that picture look very bleak.

If we look at the Sesko example... in your view what qualified Arsenal as "heavily going for" him? Did they bid for him? Did they agree personal terms? Or is it just gossips/rumours online and in the papers? I think there is a tendency to see rumours about other clubs and make the mental leap that it must be true and that the signing is as good as done (I'm guilty of that myself).

When it comes to Ito, I won't pretend I know anything about the player, but I get the impression that he would have been squad depth at LCB and LB like you mention. Given that standing, does it make sense to spend €30m upfront and use a non-HG slot this early in the window? Personally I think that LB area is going to be one of the later pieces of the puzzle this summer.

Ange alluded to the transfer strategy a few times at the end of last season, so I can't see any reason to doubt that there is one. It seems clear to me that the intention is to upgrade our attacking options, and to add a midfielder and centre back. That has been a fairly consistent line for a few weeks now.

I totally get it that you aren't having a meltdown or anything like that! But I think we can definitely give it a few weeks before anybody starts to worry about a lack of action.

Well I wouldn't jump to conclusions. "Forced" is a very vague word, I would want to know what actions that specifically refers to first.
I can't see any situation where this turns out looking rosy for him.

Yes we only have one side of information but it's pretty damning

Yep. That's what has happened the last couple of summer windows.

I've been convinced for a while now that a lot of fans are conditioned to think the way you support a team is by moaning and whinging about everything they do. Everyone needs a release I suppose. Some people choose cocaine, others choose high class escorts, and for some waking up and finding something to criticise your club for is their vice.

Um because the actions someone took are what determine whether someone did something wrong?

Honestly what is going on with the world. One accusation and we'll be throwing people in prison lol

How can you force someone to have an abortion? If it means something like blackmail, or threats, then it's obviously very wrong. If it means arguing your point of view that having the child is not a good idea, that's absolutely acceptable. We have to know what she means by the word "forced" to know whether he did something wrong, and how wrong.

Idk why I'm even arguing this, I don't even know who this guy is but it's alarming how quickly people are willing to jump to conclusions online to me.

We don't know anything other than an accusation that he "forced her to have an abortion" which could mean a million things from innocent to incredibly damning. Maybe don't have any opinion on it until you know the details required to make an actual judgment?

That’s not what the word “forced” means. Coercion is inherently implied.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the statement “if what she accuses him of is true, it’s damning and we should never sign players of that character.”

We don't know what it means hence we don't know what he's accused of.

From the word choice you can't tell me what he did precisely. Don't hang your hat on vague language - get the specifics then make a moral judgment.

The word "coerced" could have been used. We also have the added wrinkle that we're translating this from Japanese presumably.
