I will definitely watch when there were games previously. When the games were shut down, it just never crossed my mind they were missing TBH...

Now the games are back, so will I. Nice to see you guys around again after almost like a few months of planet relocation of remote living..

And the VAR farce was actually a goal line technology error and nothing to do with VAR.

It was everything to do with VAR. Yes - The goal line technology failed, but VAR is there to make sure clear obvious wrongs get righted. VAR was functioning, just very badly manned with stupid rules. Football needs to use video refs the way rugby does, with ref and VAR official mic’ed up and broadcast.

The difference between Gundogan and Winks is that one is composed, the other is not...
Yes that what I meant gundogan does what winks is supposed to and what some out our fans think winks does aka keeping it ticking gundogan does it how a top player should

The vast, vast majority of fans do not watch the game from the ground even in normal times.

The alternative is that they hold off until mass gatherings of 50,000 people are allowed again, by which point almost - if not all - clubs have gone bankrupt.

Football without football clubs isn't football either.

And the VAR farce was actually a goal line technology error and nothing to do with VAR.

Suit yourself, though.

No crowd means no atmosphere, and that’s the missing ingredient that tv just cannot fake. And if VAR is not there to stop those kind of mistakes, what’s the point of it? All this tech and clubs still getting robbed of points.

Goal line technology has failed once.

Once.

Get a hold of yourself.

Didn’t think I missed it but with the games yesterday and the old comfortable jokes to Arsenal fans coming back again I now can’t wait for us to take on Utd.

You just know Rashford will miss a sitter and all the idiots will come out saying “if he spent less time on politics and more time training he would have scored that” (for what it’s worth I think he’s done an incredible thing using his platform for good (y) ).

Ref didn’t see it, linesman didn’t see it, hawk-eye didn’t see it, VAR didn‘t see it (well it did, but it’s not allowed to interfere in such matters, even though things such as goals are somewhat important in determining who wins and who might avoid relegation). That’s a quite brilliant system we have in place.

Hawkeye has got one decision wrong in over 9,000 matches. In other words, if there's no improvement at all, there'll be an error like we saw last night in the Premier League about once every 25 years. I would much, much, much rather have a fuck-up a few times a century rather than waste time going to VAR to double-check it's worked every time there's a marginal goalline decision.

I agree with you, but how many of those 9000 matches actually needed to use Hawkeye? But as long as it is only the odd freak occurrence then it's got to better than having the ref/linesman guess if the balls over the line.

Ref didn’t see it, linesman didn’t see it, hawk-eye didn’t see it, VAR didn‘t see it (well it did, but it’s not allowed to interfere in such matters, even though things such as goals are somewhat important in determining who wins and who might avoid relegation). Was the system better when Mendes scored at United, or when Lampard scored against Germany? Both of those would have counted with the new system.

Better? No. But this is less honest. Technology has been applied, but in the most inefficient and ineffective way imaginable. It was supposed to eliminate injustices, but clearly doesnt.

As a distraction yes because at this moment we need something to take our mind of things.

Not missed it at all.

Will I get up at 5am (Australian time) to watch the game? Of course.

I don’t know why though. It’s like an addiction.. just feel compelled to watch.

Nah. We aren't enjoyable to watch and it looks like that won't be rectified in the transfer window, so why bother investing myself again?

It was nice to watch the game when I probably normally would have watched a film.

Not sure I will ever get as emotionally invested as I once did. It was nice just to watch the game and switch off for a bit.
