...was probably not signing Suarez (even if he is a cheating little racist).

A hardworking striker who scores goals out of nothing, wonder where we would have been with him instead of Ade...?

With Suarez (in current form) added to the current squad we would have been well placed in 2 this season, maybe fighting it out with United.

I have said it before, we are a Suarez, RVP etc away from tittle challeging team. Our problem with this is that there is no strikers in that quality pool that would come to us. We have to find the next Suarez or RVP and develop them ourselves for a season or to.

It's also worth noting that it has taken Suarez has taken over a season and a half to score more than 1 in 3. Last season he had one of the worst shots to goals ratios in the league.

Van Persie scored 10 goals in 52 games in his first two seasons.

Not to say we shouldn't have bought Suarezor Van Persie but all I ever hear on this board is 'if we buy a £20m striker we'll be guaranteed top 4.'

The reality is that most of our top players take time to get to level. BAE, Sandro and Bale and took a couple of seasons to get to level.

I hope we buy a striker this seaon but if we do well it is will be with Ade on top form.

Fair point, some players mature and some hit form straight away. My fear is that we lack that patience.

Wish we got Berbatov instead of Adebayor at the start of this season. Sure, Berba can look as disinterested as Ade but when he fancies it he'll do the job and he's still a joy to watch in full pomp.

Thought we have heard from ITK that Harry didn't want Suarez, too small or something?

Oh I see, we believe ITK when it's not what we want to hear :)

The truth is, our Manager/Head Coach, signs nobody, it's all dear Daniel...

Adebayor can buy himself a lot of time today by pulling his finger out and winning this game for us. He is capable and there is no excuse for not being up for it. Just don't bloody get sent off again.

But of course, it's the new black! Since believing the ITK we wanted to hear in January got us nothing in the striker department... :)

Daniel Levy you mean...?

Harry said in a TV interview that he didn't want him. Said he plays too deep and we had VdV also said we needed a target man not a second striker. Too much money also.

Personally i'm rather glad we didn't sign him. Our good name can remain unsullied.

Yup he's great player but too much baggage and bad attention for me. Berbs would have been good but I don't think he would ever have come back here.

He was maybe just a regular little uruguyan fellow who got scousified, ever thought about that? Maybe he would have been a stand up guy if played in a proper team in a proper city?

I thought we didn't sign Suarez because Liverpool waded in with silly money that they got from the Torres business and whatever we offered they'd have topped which is what happened is it not? I suspect we'd have bought him at £10m or even £16m maybe even up to £20m but had we offered £23m they'd have probably gone £25m so all that happened was we dropped out because it was a dead end.
Anything Harry or anybody else said was said afterwards so take a pinch of salt.

Unfortunately that's not true. While I don't blame him for unsporting conduct over the World Cup handball, a lot did. He has always been like this. When he arrived from Ajax he was part-way through serving a 7 match suspension for biting a player.

Besides, plenty of players have played for Liverpool and not ended up "scousified"

Thought Piverlol spent the Torres cash on a certain Andy and a bunch of the country's finest talents?

Would anyone take a cut price Torres? There's gotta be that quality player still in there?
