Controversial opinion, I think Ange will see that his team play better without Kane and if his balls are big enough he'll bench him for much of the season.
He has a plan for how we are to play, and with Kane in the team he have to adjust and play different than what he believe is the most effective.

Now, Richarlison will never score as much as Kane, but he has potential (Brasil, and when playing striker for Everton) to be around Robbie Keane numbers.
Our striker will definitely score less if it's not Kane, no matter who we sign, but the team overall might not.

No way would Bayern sell him with about 4 years left on his contract. If teams wouldn't pay what we want with 1 year there's no chance when he's under a new 5 year contract. His price is going to be even higher than it is now.

Where have you seen that Bayern is offering, and more importantly, Kane is willing to accept, a 5 year contract to play in the Bundesliga? This is why I've been sceptical of a move this summer - I doubt that Kane will want to be tied down to the kind of longterm deal that BM will insist upon if they are going to pay a huge transfer fee this summer. I think there is a lot of posturing on both sides, with Kane's team flirting with BM to engage in some price discovery and BM flirting back to show their interest when Kane is available on a free next summer (or to strike a deal in January).

I think I have a different view to most and I’ll probably get quite a few disagrees for this.
But I really don’t think Richarlison is good enough to be his replacement, it’s a huge drop off.
He’s only got 49 premier league goals in 200 appearances, only scored 15 premier league goals in 1 season once.
He’s really not the answer for me, he’s industrious and a nuisance but not a top finisher.
If Kane were to go it’s imperative we buy a replacement.

He's not good enough. Really not sure what we saw when we bought him. Kane leaves and must be replaced. We need another top class winger too.

We can't let this drag on, but we've been here so many times before.

A lot of people seem to be ok with him going because it’s not an English club. But I can absolutely see someone like Man U giving Bayern their money back on Kane in a year’s time. English clubs know they’ve got no chance with Levy, but Bayern will pick up the phone at least.

On the other hand, if he becomes a free agent that brings Madrid and Barcelona right back into the equation, then it’s not a given that he goes to an English club.

I just don’t think it’s so clear cut what happens in either scenario.

Hopefully by then you might stop caring!

Having Kane for one more season could also to be considered to make it easier for Ange, as its more likely he will have success that would give the rest of the squad the necessary confidence to perform good without H and make it easier for a replacement. It also raises the chances to play CL next season that means more money and more attractive to a replacement.

Definitely think there's an argument to be made that as a team set up to play Ange's way, the sum of the parts without Kane would be equal to what we'd have with Kane, but if he's not sold it'd be crazy to not start him.

It's naive to compare those two situations IMO.

Bale was not an academy player.
Bale was being targeted by Real Madrid, at a point in time when they were probably the best club in the world (top 3 at least).
Bale was sold for a world record fee.
Bale was not about to enter the last 11 months of his contract when we sold him.
Bale did not express on multiple occasions that it was his desire to win things with Spurs.
Bale was not club captain when he was sold.

There's actually a lot of differences here. It's not nailed on because the chances of Bayern meeting our valuation of Kane are very slim.

He may still end up going, and there's even a very small chance he ends up going to Bayern, but it's far from nailed on right now and to think it is is naive IMO.

I admit I'm just using 5 years as an example but there is just no way they don't offer him a contract like that. You don't pay that sort of money on a transfer and not have a long contract. It's all factored into the value of a player so the overall player package including fee, wages and contract length etc. I would be shocked if Bayern only took him on a short contract and paid what we want.

It's about the formation, style of play and where else the goals can come from in the squad, you don't need one player to bag 20+ goals by themselves to have a strong season.

I'd be disappointed in him if he wanted to go to a serial domestic winner just so he could win the trophy or 2 that they'd win every season with or without him but whatever, better that than him going to a league rival for nothing in a year.

Arsenals top scorer last season had 15 goals. Man Utd’s was Rashford with 17. Both sides finished miles ahead of us, you can spread the goals out and still be successful. Strongly agree regarding the CB though, that should’ve been done weeks ago.

Personally i think Brazil's number 9 is perfectly fine as a replacement. I would focus on getting a younger version of Richy as backup.

I'm not banging the GLC drum, it is just an example of a player who could benefit from playing with Richy. I could easily have said Sarr or Tanguy. None of us know which players are going to be around come the end of the transfer window.

I don’t really understand all this ‘if Kane goes hopefully we can get him back in 3 years’.
Personally I’d love Kane to stay and sign a new deal however, if he goes I hope to god we’re not in a position where we need him back in 3-4 years time. It’s such a small time way of thinking and rarely works.
