Rationally, we are all pissed at this point on talks of him leaving when we are literally at our lowest point these past few years. I may be clutching on straws, but if the money we got from his sale could get us really exciting and hungry youngsters, together with the manager whom we will be getting to get us playing in some well-coached manner, it could be some blessings in disguise.

A rebuild is inevitable. Massive changes to current players are way long overdue. If prolonging Kane leaving means we are delaying our rebuild, I rather we do it sooner or later. But all these hinges so much on the next steps the club had in mind. I would think Levy's appointment of the manager will be so crucial, but then supposedly Kane knew about the appointment already and not too impressed with the candidate, could it be why he made such inconsiderate statement 2 games before the end of the season when we are still in huge stakes to make next season European football?

All these timings scare me. It seems things are being worked on but far from satisfactory.

Your talking about a chairman who brought in Mourinho because apparently he promised him he could get a tune out of Pochs squad, hoping he could save on an expensive rebuild.
Your talking about a chairman that got Mourinho to shop in Poundland and accept the likes of Doherty, Gedson,Vinny and Rodon.

Sorry I'm done being optimistic about future rebuilds.
Yes unfortunately a classic levy fuck up which will put us back years now.
Can't wait until he tells the new manager are you ok shopping in Aldi and by the way our best player is fucking off because like the fans he is fed up with no ambition or silverware.

A real air of inevitability about this. I have been fortunate enough to have been a season ticket holder with my oldest son (now 17) since the Sherwood season and then the start of the Poch era, and I have always been proud of the fact Kane was one of our own and my son has watched Kane in the team he loves producing some wonderful memories over the years.

However i might be seen as controversial here, but if Spurs get £120m+ for Kane (in current market conditions a tough ask) then it might work out best for both parties, my reasons are as follows:

1. Kane is approaching 29 and has a few miles on the clock, he is not a Ronaldo type athlete that will necessarily drive into and beyond his mid 30’s in peak physical condition.
2. All modern statistical data shows most players decline from 27, not the previously held belief of decline staring at 29-30 years old.
3. I don’t subscribe to the theory Kane is in the form of his life right now, that was in the last two seasons at WHL, he gets nowhere near the same amount of shots off per game now. His mobility is severely restricted in comparison to those years and the 1st season at Wembley his ruthlessness was higher.
4. Kane cost us £0 and has been a wonderful servant to Tottenham, the money could start the rebuild for the next decade. Alongside getting rid of the likes of Dier, Aurier, Winks, Davies, and Doherty etc. that said I have no confidence Hitchin being able to rebuild the team with £200m available to him.

Overall though, it’s going to be a sad day watching Kane play for City against us at the Tottenham stadium. That is the only transfer that could happen or make sense from a financial and sporting perspective. I had a similar feeling as a 10 year old when Hoddle left Spurs for Monaco in 1987, you felt sad but kind of accepted he had earned the right to try something new.

By "Kane is approaching 29" do you mean that he is 27?

how do any of you have faith that we'd invest this hypothetical money well lol? it never works: us with bale, everton with lukaku, liverpool with suarez, barca with neymar. the only exception i can think of is coutinho, but liverpool were already a good side without him: without kane we're lower midtable.

You ever work with any form of agent before?
Indeed. You can’t ever take an agent at their word because they act primarily in their own interest. Doesn’t matter whether it’s football agents, recruitment agents, estate agents, secret agents… Hell, even dealing with your local newsagent you should check your change ;)

One of the most galling things about all this is that the press are making out that there is a chance he could go to Chelsea or Manchester United.

The former... he would have to run down his contract and leave for free because there’s no way, and the latter? Only way they’re getting him is if they break the world record and include Bruno Fernandes and Rashford on top.

There is only one club in this country who could get Kane, and that is the club that would have to completely rip up the exact transfer approach that has facilitated their rise to domination.

I thought I was the only one. I think Harry’s a great player and admire him as a footballer but more like I admire an opposition player.

I loved players like King, Keane, Bale, Dele Teddy etc. I just don’t feel the same about Kane and we’re talking about the greatest player in my spurs supporting life.
I feel the exact same.

When Bale scored that goal for Real Madrid in the CL final against A Madrid, I celebrated it like Spurs had scored. If Kane moved to Real for example, I wouldn't have the same feeling.

For me, I'm actually bored of the situation and would rather put it all to bed and start again. We may need to sign two players to replace what he brings to the team but i think if leaves we will be in no worse of position then we're currently are this time next season.

I apologize in advance if someone mentioned it already but JJ liked a Tweet from the Account "TranSPURS" where they quote Alasdair Gold saying that Harry Kane has not informed Tottenham that he wants to leave.

Don't blame him for wanting out, he's stayed much longer than most players and would never leave as long as we had stayed competitive.

This “bad news” sounds like Kane is trying to force Levy’s hand and speed up the rebuild.

Certainly seems like a shot across the bows with regard to the coming couple of months. Having said that, I haven't seen anu actual quotes from Harry Kane (surprise, surprise).

His agent is his Brother, and Harry is his only client so a bit different to your average agent.
Maybe but depends how this was said and to who. You are right in that he is not a seasoned agent with lots of experience. That there may be why this has leaked and it may well have been contorted to make a story.

I assume there was a Bale thread in the summer he left. I’d love to see how many people thought he was staying at the start of that summer.

The fact that this story leaked now strongly suggests the breakup is well underway now - not next summer.

Loads. Denial and head in the sand burying from me and a lot of people. This feels very similar, it’s why I think he will go. Bale refused to play in friendlies. If Kane doesn’t play in any preseason friendlies then I suspect he’s gone. I think the before the Euros comment is a red herring.
