"I'd love to stay here. The club is in great shape at the moment, and we're going forward as a club, and that's important.

"As long as there's a vision with the club, and we're not stale, we're going forward as a club. At the moment, we're an excited group of young players with a great manager, great training ground and a new stadium coming too.

"I'd love to stay here for the rest of my career. We'll just have to see what happens."

Asked if he would settle for another top-four finish this season, Kane added: "No, I wouldn't. Like I say we want to improve on last year, we want to get better. We're not scared of anyone, not scared of any players or managers.

Love the ambition, top four not good enough. If the rest of the squad and MoPo have the same mindset, there's no limit to what determination and sheer self-belief can carry us to.

I have heard that a lot from players that we are not scared of anyone, we are aiming to win the league etc.

At first I thought it a bit of false bravado and something that they thought they had to say but i honestly think the players believe it and are confident in their beliefs.

I am not sure many fans can honestly say the same but we, as fans, more live in hope. Also, the fact as Spurs fans that we have been repeatedly burnt over the years lead us to not be confident of anything.

Vaguely remember Robbie Keane coming out with a similar line. Something like 'I've moved around a lot, never felt at home anywhere, being at spurs feels like home and the perfect club for me'

Fast forward a year or two, 'yeah, Liverpool, dream come true moving to them"

Still a ledge though.

Can't argue with any of that, especially where he says as long as there's a vision and we're not stale. I wouldn't blame him at all for moving if we suddenly showed a lack of ambition for whatever reason.

And I want you to stay for the rest of your career*

*as long as you maintain a high standard. Don't get fat and stop scoring. It would be in everyone's interest for you to move on then. Maybe you can get fat, just keep scoring.

Actions speak louder than words. Players will spout off any crap and expect us gullible fans to lap it up. Fact remains if we continue the path of winning fuck all, penny pinching in the market and celebrate 3rd as some kind of achievement then our quality players will get fed up and leave, don't kid yourselves otherwise!!!

Although it's nice to hear him say it I wouldn't begrudge him a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid if they came calling (hope they won't). Modric and Bale haven't done too badly since leaving us and I still enjoy watching them play. What I couldn't tolerate is him moving to Chelsea or Utd. That would be unforgivable in my mind.

Hopefully he'll go on to win trophies with us anyway

What's crazy is that two 20+ goal seasons from literally any other player would have them angling for a move to Madrid/Barca/Bayern.

We really are extremely fortunate that he is one of our own and loves us.
