Agreed. I think there's something about Ziyech that the general public doesn't know or someone would have bought him earlier.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea did the groundwork on this one during their transfer ban. Not sure why he didn't move in the summer but that could have been part of the deal. Maybe all parties agreed to rebuff all approaches (including when he had a fairly low release clause) and he was quite public about not wanting to leave Ajax in the summer. Don't know where he fits in at Chelsea though. Maybe we could have Mason Mount or Hudson Odoi for peanuts. Nah, on second thoughts scrub that.

Kante Jorginho
Hudson odoi Ziyech Pulisic
Abraham

Not a bad interchangeable 3 behind Abraham. Lucky for us they're 70 mill in the hole for a keeper they no longer want.

I don't know how they plan to set up. Mount, Pulisic, Ziyech, Odoi for three spots?

I was expecting Chelsea to go hard for Sancho in the summer though.

True, but whenever I saw him in the prem I always thought he looked effective.

I think he's a good player, but in the Prem I still feel like Saints was his level, he never looked too good to be in their team. If anything I think Saints fans wanted more from him because they knew he had quality that he only sometimes showed. I do think he may be one of those players who thrives more when he has more talented players around him though, in all fairness.

Ziyech does look a good signing for them on paper. He's the type of attacking player who I feel is the only thing missing to really upgrade our attack, in terms of just another dangerous player the opposition has to look out for and who can do damage on his own.

He'll be 28 at the end of his first season there, good player but if he doesn’t settle straight away there isn’t much time to sort it.

Envious of Chelsea beginning to get their summer deals done in the second week of February.

If only we could be so bold.

Even better getting our deals done in January so we can actually use them for the rest of the campaign.

Chelsea, the team that spent millions fighting against a transfer ban and being successful with their case to get it lifted for January didn't actually use that window to strengthen their squad. Still envious of their actions over the last couple of months?
