HI TT, I think I've said all I can in our enjoyable debate so I'll leave you with the last word on that.

Re though a general point being made that Winter is talking about now, he says

'Levy, whose credibility has been shredded over his handling of Jol's exit, has delusions of grandeur if he believes Spurs have Champions League potential. Jol took Spurs to the boundaries of their legitimate ambition, to fifth place (twice).'

That reads to me as not just now, but covering the recent past certainly, and the tone of this and the article's digs in general about 'mediocrity' and 'average' implies this he feels is Spurs fate, full stop. Now and in the future. Maybe this is a wrong interpretation, but it's the way it came across to me.

Had he said something like, Spurs current ambitions should go no further than 5th, but etc etc (fill in stuff about fanbase, income streams, whatever) then fine. I still wouldn't have liked the nasty tone of the article, but hey I'm used to articles that cover Spurs in that way.
