Fucking hell, we're going to win the league. If we can beat Hearts, the world is our oyster.

Just watched the highlights and in the first 35mins Tagana had 3 chances, the last of which was just before our opener, so on another day, it could have been a bit of a shocking start.

And their goal came from a poor clearance from Royal, so not ideal for him considering how good the likes of Gray and Spence played.

Lovely game to watch last night.

As with against Cambridge at the weekend, Ange played 2 totally different teams in each half.

On paper, the stronger team started the first half with Brennan Johnson, Maddison, Kulu all starting. Backline was a bit of a miss mash with Skippy and Archie Gray starting at CB and it was nice to see Manor Solomon get some game time after a very long injury lay off.

First half was a bit scrappy to be fair and Hearts could have been out of sight had they taken their chances but we took the lead through a well worked goal between Maddison and Kulu with Brennan tucking the ball home from close range.

For me, standout player of the first half was Archie Gray who's positioning and reading of the game was excellent. You can already tell he is going to be running our midfield for the foreseeable. A brilliant debut from our new boy with the hefty price tag already looking like money well spent.

Second half saw the kids introduced. Mikey Moore, Ashley Phillips, Tyrese Hall, Will Lankshear, Alfie Devine etc all taking to the pitch as well as our other debutante Lucas Bergvall. Pleased to report that they were all outstanding. Bergvall ran the show in the middle of the park whilst Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear both proved that the hype is justified with each scoring a lovely goal. Phillips and Devine put in strong performances as well.

Saying all that, man of the match has to go to someone we probably didn't expect to see wearing our shirt again. Take a bow Djed Spence. Absolutely outstanding throughout the second half, constantly taking up dangerous positions in and around their box and ended up with a goal and an assist with a lovely through ball for Will Lankshear's goal. Djed has definitely given Ange something to think about and could still prove to be the backup to Pedro Porro that we are looking for.

All in all, it was a great second half performance from the kids putting 4 past Hearts. More established players such as Maddison and Kulu may watch their backs as we definitely have some serious quality coming through the ranks.

COYS!

Watching the game last night, I believe at least 5 of our second half substitutes, can make a impact next season, either from on the bench or in Europe. Lankspear, Moore, Donely, Begaval, Phillip's, definitely and the others could well be there or there abouts. If Spence sorts his head out too, big future.

👍👍 ... at this rate we don't need any new signings.. 😁 ... but it was nice to see the youngsters in action and doing well.
