I can't get over the fact we are contemplating buying a Man Utd reject, who's done well for Villarreal and then spend £15m+ and make him our main striker... I don't think he's good enough, certainly not as our main goalscorer..

He's only 23, he left Man Utd when he was 20. It's not like he was given much chance there. Just like Forlan.

Anyone who follows La Liga surely knows how talented Rossi is. He's a definite upgrade on what we have.

That United reject who Alex Ferguson insisted on a buy back 1st option clause in his contract at Villarreal. Why would he do that if he didn't think he was going to mature into a superb forward?

Luckily, or at least I hope luckily, United don't need any more forwards at the moment.

This!

There's no doubting Rossi's ability, the kid is a natural goal scorer and if I remember rightly, tore us a new one in a pre-season game at the lane......he was devastating.

We HAVE to be more prolific in front of goal from our strikers, it's the only that has somewhat held us back this season so far.

I've seen a lot of people comparing Rossi to Defoe, from what I've seen he reminds me a lot of pre-Liverpool Keane. Very involved in the build-up play and particularly scoring the same sort of goals.

But...
Redknapp also ruled out moves for former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi and Porto striker ‘Hulk.’
“Giuseppe Rossi is a good player but he's not available,” Redknapp said. “Incredible Hulk? No, not going to happen. We're not close to doing anything.”

I swear he said that precise line 2 days before Piennar had his medical

A lot of people don't realise that not only did Rossi play for Manchester United, but he actually started his career there, too, playing in their reserves. He was touted for big things, and was was quite prolific in the games he played for the second string team. Very skillful, quick and with a clear eye for goal. Although lacking in resolution quality, this is a great video highlighting his time there :

IMO, he's far better than a lot of people have him down for. Definite yes purchase from me, he'd be my second choice behind Suarez should he be available.

Its a nice YouTube collection, but you could put one together of Defoe that would be equally, if not more impressive. Both would not show the strengths and weaknesses of either player though.

I don't see the point of having both of them at the club...

Yeah nice video. But I remember watching a video of Pav' before he joined Spurs, he looked as good as the video makes him but truthfully, nothing like the video.

Note: Looks like we're not going to get Rossi or Hulk, Harry just ruled it out...

There's a chance, but hearing him say not even close just disappointing. Guess no new signing for striker position until summer or year after...

Hopefully 'Arry's just talking shit again. I mean, just days before we signed Pienaar he said we weren't close to bringing anyone in.

Haha, yeah, let's hope Levy is negotiating now with any one, I don't mind - must be class though.

Best quote from Harry, "I'm not a wheeler dealer! FXXK OFF, I'm no wheeler dealer!" Good ole Harry!

Rossi having a great game at the minute, good finish too...doesn't look like a player on the move any time soon.

Have to say Rossi and Carzola have looked really good not only individually but seem to have a great understanding with each other too. Rossi on a hattrick and I wouldn't bet against him getting it.

I appreciate you see alot more of Rossi than I do Brett so will bow to your knowledge of the guy - having said that I didn't neccessarily say he was the right fit for us, well, not if we play him right up top. Certainly deserves to be considered though based on tonights performance.

Yeah if that's your opinion on him then fair play, I just get annoyed reading comments like "He can't be that good if Utd sold him" and other rubbish like that.
