A question to those who know the general industry in the UK/Europe when it comes to players from abroad coming into the leagues even if its the lower leagues etc etc.

Anyway on to my question boys

I know a lad ( close friend ) who is a professional footballer and he is looking to extend his career to other potentially bigger leagues than our current home land leagues ( PSL, NFD ) in the UK or Europe depending on how the process to getting there goes. Now a few of you may recognize me and know my comments around the forum show I have a good knowledge of football and player scouting and when I say this lad has talent I mean it. I've been through school with him and he has been the best footballer in our hometown since the age of 7. He has been on trials with one of our biggest clubs in Africa ( Orlando Pirates ) but due to politics that I won't go into here he couldn't make a breakthrough there. He did however score countless goals for their B team and was almost always first choice striker there unless injured. The first team is a dictatorship and due to that and his ethnicity he couldn't make the breakthrough although countless promises were made that he would make it there. He is better than most of the local PSL strikers I've seen, His fitness is always up to scratch ( he is my personal trainer in the off season ) and he can honestly smash them better than any of the strikers I've seen play for bafana since Radebe. Some quick stats:

Age: 22
Ethnicity: South African/Portuguese
Position/s: Striker (9) Behind Striker (10)
Height: 1.71m
Weight: 73kg

I have no fancy youtube video's, or game clips ( they cost R700 per game per disk from OP and that's a lot of money in my country for 90 mins of crappy footage ) but I am in the process of helping him put together a Scout Me style video with clips from the street, pitch and general football foolishness where ever we see the chance too, to give him an alternative to the usual game clips and goals other players use on youtube to get scouted whilst still showing off what I believe to be sublime skill and movement on the ball. Its a cliche but you can really liken him to Cristiano in style of play and utter ability when it comes to finding the back of the net. He is about 1000x better than that shitty ametuer who somehow managed to make it into Crystal Palace's first team ( I forget his name ) and I would be willing to bet both my nuts and my wife's monogamy on that statement. All this kid needs is a chance and he's getting on now so the time is right now. He is currently a free agent and doesn't mind playing in lower leagues and moving forward if his ability shines through which I know will happen and one day play for the teams of his dreams. If anyone knows of teams who have "open" trials for players like this please post here or any information that you may believe will help me help him realize his life dream. Your comments and suggestions are highly appreciated and I thank you in advance SC.

Sorry I can't be of more help but I'm pretty sure Barnet do open trials but they're conference. Still, they have Edgar Davids at the helm and if he thinks your guy is talented then I'm sure he has the contacts to him somewhere

Edit: Oh come on! What are the odds of someone else saying the one club I put forward whilst I was typing this?!

Thanks for the suggestion Lufti and kr1978 I will have a look at that link and see what that's about. Conference may be utter shite but it just means him moving up in the leagues quicker which he is guaranteed to do. Will also await further suggestions from other members let's see if we can make his dreams come true, and I will personally see too it that SC gets a hefty donation :D

Barnett site states that trials are only open for UK applicants and not players from abroad

To be honest if he's serious about football then he'd probably have to move to somewhere in Europe anyway. If he was to get into the team he wouldn't be able to live off the salary so he'd have to get another job on top, at least temporarily though so he'd probably have to move here and set up before he starts trialing for clubs etc

It actually says "uk based." Not sure why but most seem to have these sorts of things so you're mate would need to get himself over here first and then apply :)
