Unsurprisingly, FIFA announced this morning that the Honduras team is indeed under investigation for match fixing.

Judging Abraham off this Euros is akin to other fans judging Kane off last years Euros. Abraham is a quality striker and should he get his chance in the PL I think he will score goals. How good he eventually will become is unknown but he is a big talent.

As I was mentioning him.in our thread thought I'd find one of my old.posts praising him.

Really.pleased for Abraham. Hope he goes far but not at the expense of Spurs of course. I think as more eyes will be on him he will surprise a lot of people with how skillful he can be. I think a lot assume he's just a big lump who's a bit of a taping merchant. Hes very skillful and excellent at bringing players into play.

Glad to see him start to find his feet especially after some of the racial abuse he faced.

Also additionally.pleased for Mount who's another I've followed for so long and taking so well. I said after his season in the eredivisie he should be in the Prem as players like Kluivert who was seemingly rated higher got go Roma. Mount went Derby as Chelsea as standard didnt look to promote from within. But as expected their embargo could be their blessing in disguise. So many players they've missed out on that could have been better than any signings, and now they're forced to.use their academy. If it didn't happen it likely would've been a case of, if they were good enough they would be played as the manager would've spent a load of.money to avoid taking risk on em. All of their goals have been scored by academy players this year, and 3 different ones. Trust the youth. Hope they integrate James now.

Then we use start using more of our own.

I said it at the time, but the transfer ban was the best thing that could have happened to Chelsea in the long run. Annoyingly.

Tbf they dont have to play them so respect to Chelsea for doing it. We didn't buy a player for 2 windows and I think made a few appearances. They've only missed one so far and got 3 regularly playing in their first team. And they still had Pulisic join them this window.

Definitely should get a lot more credit than they will do but I dont doubt the transfer ban has nudged them into it.

As always say they just need an opportunity. They dont get chances, then its, what have they done since they left? None are world class so not.like we missed out on any. Plus they won trophies all the while talented players are lost. It's a shame so many disappeared but hopefully the 3 playing continue, RLC gets back in and CHO and James show their ability too.

Said I wanted to sign Abrahams last summer when there were some rumours he was available. You don’t score as many goals as he did in the championship at him age without being a good player.

Pulisic plus Kovacic is two new players signed. This is never mentioned as it spoils the story.

Ye. There is this strong narrative that Chelsea have been forced. Maybe their ability to buy has been restricted but they still have more players join their EL winning squad and top 4 squad than we did. And yet have still attempting to introduce 3 players from their academy into it. So fair play to them. Considering all the stick they have got they've got in a manager they have tasked to do it and he is really trying their best. Not many have an excuse if they are doing this.

they have reece james back from injury now too so they could actually end up with a starting 11 soon where more than half of them are academy produced, which would be an incredible feat to be fair. once james gets going at chelsea i don't think it will be too long until people start talking about him in terms of england recognition, he has a lot more to his game than wan-bissaka imo.

Have to say that the England U21s have some serious talent available; see Oliver Skipp got on which is great for the lad!

Can anyone explain the sudden emergence of Liverpool youth as a collective of men's football ready talent?

Can't remember anyone mentioning them as being strong for donkey's years and only recently they seemed to be scavenging youth players faster than hub caps disappeared, so where's this strength sprung from?! They can't all be riding a confidence wave together, surely?!

Cheers in advance.

Could it be partly due to Alex Inglethorpe who left us to join them in 2012?

It would - and that makes me sad as a lot of their success is from our original backroom finds (first team too...) - but their youth teams still don't seem to have been particularly good until this past year, coinciding with when their first team suddenly went epic too. Just seems odd. Normally youth teams steadily build a reputation and it's pretty obvious who's brilliant etc...

Bottom line is, they’ve gone and snapped up some of the best youngsters available.

scouts are at all academy Cat 1 games, usually from u14 onwards, the big clubs snap all the decent players up quickly, bring overplayers from abroad and educate them too.

as far as how ready Liverpool’s are over other u23 teams, Spurs u23 beat them 4-0 recently - u23 prem league is actually a decent standard of dootball

How's your lad doing??

My boy's Sunday team are supposed to have a Bedfordshire County Cup semi final on Sunday, but I suspect weather going to put paid to that.
We're supposed to have a Spurs scout attending it too (he's mates with our team's coach). Had MK Dons scout at their first game back after Xmas, but it got abandoned after 6 mins due to a broken leg. Don't think there's really anyone in our team (or in fact anyone I've seen in the league this season) that's at a level that would see them signed by a club.

Lads doing okay, he snapped his ankle last May, weird injury for a keeper but against Liverpool, CF two footed him after he played the ball - horrible injury.

6 months recovery, so he was back for his first game in December - challe gong for a 13 year old spending 6 months playing xbox and no football, but his focus is back.

played arsenal last weekend, decent performance but a few bits to work on, and contract decision takes place in Matlock, he may get let go, or given another 2 year contract taking him to u16 - it’s all down to him to work hard for it now.

he’s got the ability and talent, it’s now effort/commitment from him, not much I can do for him now.

bloody serious now though

funnily enough, his new coach is an ex spurs keeper

And apparently ours are the academy with no talent. All it takes is opportunity most of the time

Nothing really. Just the usual had one or two quality players and pinched a lot with decent recruiting. Curtis Jones is their best product by a long way and I've mentioned him a few times on this forum as one to look out for, but Elliot, Hoever, Chirivella, Duncan (now left ), Longstaff , the last two having helped them win the FAYC, are all players they've brought in from other academies or abroad.

I know Liverpool fans are very high on these players but as BG mentioned below, our age group were better than them at u16 level. We won a preseason tournament they played in. They then recruited more, then as their first team have done well, they've managed to give some exposure as they don't want to play their main players.

We know what route ours took.

There was a player I liked years ago at Norwich called Bilal Kamal a very skillful CM and he played for Norwich u18s and I remember when he had stepped up to u23 football and Norwich tried to convert him to a defender and he played at fullback a lot of the time, this was a waist of his talent in my opinion and they played him as a defender for well over a year and because he was playing in a bad Norwich youth team at the time he lost his way and then was released by Norwich at the end of 2018/2019 season.

The last time I watched him he was a shell of the player he was and playing him as a defender was crazy because he had a lot of talent on the ball.

I completely forgot about him for a long time until tonight I decided to have a look to see what he was up to now and was Shocked to find him playing in America playing for University of New Hampshire Wildcats.

I found a clip of him playing and he looks happy playing midfield again and he does score two good goals in the clip.

He is the number 11 and you tell me if you see him as a Defender because I could never see it?

I know that @Blake Griffin also like this player a good few years back.

I know it is not the best level but it is always good to see player trying something different and it looks like he is doing well once again.

If you just want to see the goals go to around 1:28 and 5:16 for his second.
