Fair point but how many clubs would risk an 8 year contract ? I can't think of anyone else who would take that risk.Or what if he doesn't and turns into an exceptional player?

If money is the only aim then you are correct.i know we laugh about these agents screwing these kids over sending them to chelsea but honestly they aren't. they are doing their job and getting the best deal they can for them which is typically an insane high wage at chelsea for their age at a 8 year contract, that sort of financial security is rare
To be fair, for a lot of these kids who come from impoverished childhoods, yes money is a main aim and that is totally fine. Soccer is a job and that’s ok.If money is the only aim then you are correct.

Say what you want about the morals of it all but it must be so fun being a Newcastle fan at the moment.
Sadly it’s not a couple it’s the whole league except pis united and the bottom 3 even wolves and west ham are improvingIt kind of feels like we have well and truly been surpassed by a couple clubs we looked down on just a few years ago.
Or it's part of the natural "ups and downs" of a competitive league? It kind of feels like we have well and truly been surpassed by a couple clubs we looked down on just a few years ago.
