So Newcastle buying DCL and surprise surprise a young Newcastle player joining Everton.

The pure contempt they are showing for the league is actually impressive

So just to recap:

Aston Villa buy Dobben from Everton for c9m
Everton buy Aroegbunam from Aston Villa same day for c9m
Both close to pure PSR profit players

Aston villa signing Maatsen from Chelsea for c37m
Chelsea signing 18yr old Kettleman from Aston Villa for c20m
Both pure PSR profit players

Chelsea also interested in Duran from Aston Villa but maybe they are going for Kettleman as an issue around with that one.

Nothing to see here folks move along
Just an update to above based on speculation going around

Newcastle buying Calvert Lewin from Everton and Everton buying Minteh from Newcastle with Minteh pure PSR profit and DCL near enough pure profit given how long he's been there.

Also add Branthwaite to Chelsea with Chalobah at Everton as per WLB note, which I can totally see happening.

It's so blatant what they are doing, however this is nothing anyone can do to stop it within the current rules. The only real solution would be to review the amounts being spent, like £19m on Kellyman who is an actual nobody. We would be lucky to get that for Oliver Skipp, a guy with nearly 100 premier league appearances.

Thing is, this player swapping is all well and good, but these teams are going to be left with absolute turd on their registers.
They’ll have basically zero resell, unless these clubs swap everything back in a season or two. That’ll be interesting.

See you in June 2025 when this inevitably happens. Maybe they’ll play it safe and move to the next team along in that little group instead.

There is nothing to stop this happening every year, even with the same players.

They should limit the number of transfers between PL clubs, would be a start.

If the new Chelsea lad from Brazil is the new Vinicius/Neymar/Ronaldinho/Pele does that make Endrick the former new Vinicius/Neymar/Ronaldinho/Pele

I think this is getting silly. Seems like twenty years ago these Brazilian stars would first take a mid-way step to Portugal, France or even Ukraine with Shakthar Donetsk having a fun team for a few years. Then they'd prove themselves to get their big move. But now the big clubs are getting rid of the middle man and signing them up for big money early.

There will be no psr benefits to doing it every year so they won't. This is another short term measure for badly run clubs

Looks like the Calvert-Lewin deal has broken down along with Minteh going to Everton who looks set to go to Lyon instead.

Of course there is.

I'm no financial guru but surely there is no profit to be made from selling a player you are amortising over 5 years, a year into his 5 year contract unless you sell him for a lot more money than you paid for him. Once you'd taken out the signing on fee's, the loyalty payment and the agents fee. You'd 100% be running at a huge loss every time you did the deal. This is not a long term strategy for any team, it's purely an attempt to get out of jail for this financial year.

Very young highly rated CF, he only just turned 18. He is def still raw but certainly has potential. Im not sure why he is agreeing to go to Chelsea tho, only reason he wont sign an extension is because he doesn't think he will get much game time next season at Barca. Not sure how it would be any different at Chelsea if they get David as well.

I imagine the fact that Chelsea's checks seem to have lots of zeros and don't bounce is of partial interest to him.
