Another player that has been linked to Villa as a Zaniolo replacement. But again i'm not sure they have the funds. Very curious to see where he ends up. I'm sure he will have been offered to Atalanta as port of the Teun proposal but I don't think they need him. I think they would prefer the money.

I think they'll have money but not until the new financial year and even then their wage budget right now is extremely high. I'm sure someone told me they needed to sell and by that I mean sell decent players before they could buy. That was probably before CL qualification, but even still if they were dangerously close then, they'll still not be able to really push the boat out without trimming the wage bill with the changes to PSR.

There is zero chance Soulé goes on loan, Juve desperately need the money from his sale. As for who else Villa might be looking for on the wings or what kinda of deal, I’m not sure.

Just looking at Villas salaries, it's 7th, which sounds ok, but they're on 105m (only 9m off us and 6 off Liverpool).
I'm not sure if ours includes Kane, Dier and Peresic but that is very high for Villa who don't have the income of Liverpool or our stadium benefits.

So I would say any chance of Villa competing with us for transfers is bogus unless they want to incur the ffp penalties. The CL position might give them a few extra quid, but it's a hell of a risk.
I'd actually say Villa are more likely to sell a couple of key players than buy anyone of note. I'd say Watkins and Luiz are their biggest assets and then the question would be, who is in a position to spend the money they want?

There always seems to be rumours about Arsenal going in for Douglas Luiz so if Villa need to raise money I can see them possibly selling him but I’d be amazed if they sell Watkins this summer. I think he signed a new deal this season as well. I’d love him at Spurs but he seems irreplaceable for them.

Obviously I’m a fan of us signing Brazilian players, but an 18 year old winger who’s 5”8 and slim built and who has only 1 goal in 34 games for Palmeiras is not the sort of signing we should be making.
He needs a year or two playing in Portugal or maybe France and then seeing if his potential develops. He doesn’t look ready for the PL for me.
