At this rate Chelsea will have more U18 Brazilians than a Di Caprio Birthday Party.
Absolutely not put off by the restrictions are they? I want to go to every player's parents/reps and tell them 'DON'T SIGN FOR CHELSEA "
This is the problemThese kids come from the Favelas, they won't care about the instability that's going on.
It's a life-changing amount of money, their family will be set for generations to come.

That along with Chelsea hording them is what irritating me.I hate to stereotype, but there is also the issue that many young Brazilians fail to live up to their potential as they struggle to adjust to their new reality, the lifestyle and temptations that come with it.
Just in general I think handing teenagers mega money on 8 year contracts in one of the world’s biggest party capitals is a recipe for disaster. Chelsea already have by far the youngest squad in the league and they are driving that down even further. The culture at the club could quickly unravel with a few bad apples and no experienced leaders to keep them in line. Thiago Silva is leaving, they’re actively trying to sell their captain who embodies pride and professionalism, and they’re sacrificing their homegrown academy players who truly identify with the club and uphold its values. They’ve got rid of Poch who for all his faults is exemplary as a man manager who can instil discipline, loyalty, hard work and commitment in his ranks, and they’re replacing him with a rookie who they’re hiring primarily based off his reputation as an assistant. Their strategy has more holes than a sieve. I wish I could just laugh at Chelsea and call it a day but it’s genuinely sad how many potential worldies they’ll sign who will end up on the scrap heap.

So few of them will make it there.
So few of them will make it to the very top anyway. Brazil seem to have far more "wonderkids" than any other country and how many actually go on to fulfil that potential. The problem with S.America in this regard is as soon as a kid shows real promise they are thrown straight into regular first team football purely to get them on the financial radar without the grounding, structure, education and discipline European sides give them through their academies. A Premier league scout I know told me once you have to put so much more time, scrutiny and due diligence into the background of players from South America than you do from say Africa or Asia because it's so difficult to know what you are getting despite their on field performances. That along with Chelsea hording them is what irritating me.

The scouting chief of #Chelsea visited Argentina to see Franco Mastantuono and Agustín Giay in action.
Both are very well considered in the long term.
Just wait till Boelhy finds out they all need work permits before they can come over and actually play.Urgh, fuck off Chelsea big style if they secure Mastantuono and Estevao!
My ire is more from the standpoint that these super talented individuals could develop so much better elsewhere so it's as much as looking at these dealings from the view of a football purist in tandem with having my Spurs/Anti Chelsea hat on.Just wait till Boelhy finds out they all need work permits before they can come over and actually play.
With the sheer number they are looking seriously at, it's becoming more and more apparent they can only be looking at all these as financial investments to flip in a year or so's time without them actually ever playing for Chelsea at all. This is no more squad building than what they've done by spending a billion over the last 18 months or so. Still not worried in the slightest, just as I wasn't last Summer when everyone in here was losing their shit at how much they were spending on a pick and mix of over inflated expensive players.
When you say they'll develop better elsewhere where do you think they'll be developing? It certainly won't be Chelsea for the majority of them.My ire is more from the standpoint that these super talented individuals could develop so much better elsewhere so it's as much as looking at these dealings from the view of a football purist in tandem with having my Spurs/Anti Chelsea hat on.
You are also correct re work permits but also the introduction of ESC (Elite Significant Contribution) permits which came into force from 2023/24 for those players who fail WP's but can be allocated a slot but it is convoluted and not uniform for each club.

Most likely Strasbourg I suspect. When you say they'll develop better elsewhere where do you think they'll be developing? It certainly won't be Chelsea for the majority of them.
