Honestly we just need some energy in midfield. If that’s Fernandes, great, but Skipp seems like a good fit for that role, too. Winks always seems to be out of position, and I’m not sure what the hell Dier does, if I’m honest.

Dier should get a double assist for Boro’s goal. Under no pressure he gave the ball away and then with no danger whatsoever he gave a foul away. Free kick eventually led to the goal.

He's got an uncanny knack to get the ball back to Gazzaniga regardless of the move or his position on the pitch. It's quite remarkable

Why’s this taking so long? All very strange if he had his medical yesterday.
Most likely to do with the fact we had a match tonight, so decided to leave it until tomorrow.

Alternatively, I remember the GLC deal taking a while and then it turned out to be a whole lot more complicated than we thought. Considering its a similar deal, perhaps we're finishing off minor details regarding future clauses.

Probably option 1 though.

Dier and Winks are both very average but Winks offers much more with the ball, Dier is unfortunately a very limited player who wouldn’t look out of place in a championship team.

GF seems like a sissoko replacement or potential upgrade.

really interesting to see how we try and re-mould the squad to Jose’s liking, it’s getting a bit exciting now this ‘new chapter’ almost a blessing in disguise that kane got injured as we’ve been kicked into action which should hopefully stand us in better sted for next season.

I’ve watched a highlights video on YouTube and that’s the extent of what I know about this guy.

So, to make an ill informed judgement on that basis, he seems like Sissoko with superior close control, a greater range of passing and set piece ability. If he could combine that with even a portion of Sissoko’s effort and application i’d be pretty chuffed with him - fingers crossed!

Mourinho didn’t look too chuffed that it hadn’t been completed when he asked the press guy last night after the game if it had been finalised.

If it hasn’t been announced for one reason or another the media guy won’t just say “ yeah he’s signed” they’ll want to do proper announcement first

Even if he was in the stands, in crutches - this fella would be more effective than Dier. Looks like a rugby player on a football pitch.
Rugby players are much more mobile. Once he has accepted he is an old fashioned centre half and not Busquets , we can all move on.
