Am I the only one who thinks the rumoured clause to buy is incredible high for a sub of Benfica?
Benfica understandably want to cover their bases. If he turns out to be a player worth that kind of money then that's great for us, and Benfica make sure they don't get shafted. If he turns out to be good, but no more than that, there will surely be room for negotiation. And if he turns out to be shite, we send him back no questions asked.

I think this is a great deal for all involved.

He is a player who likes to win the ball back and maraud forward, beating men at will and attempting intricate 1-2 passes. This style of play has earned comparisons to fellow Seixal product and Portuguese international Renato Sanches. He has 3 assists in the league and boasts an impressive average of 84.9% passing accuracy per league match, with the majority of the passes being short passes. Along with his wonderful eye for a pass, he averages 1.7 tackles per game, showing that he is also adept at the more defensive side of the game.

Seems to be an informed article from towards the end of last season. One person’s view of course but seems to suggest that this player would add positively to our central midfield.

It is. But if he's at that level, we pay it, if he isn't, we don't. This is 18 months down the line, fees might have taken another rise.

Also, you just have to look at some of those players that Benfica have let go on loan over the last 5 or so years. Bernardo, Jovic, Jimemez for example. They've been mugged off more than once, so I can see why they're covering themselves.

Hopefully you are right but how is it when it becomes an obligation when he gets a certain amount of games.
Then we start to block him from games because boldy wants a good old negotiation.
Lets see. Best of luck for the lad.

Agree with this. Also, you've got to think that there's a clause in there, similar to Lo Celso's agreement, where we can pay a lesser fee to buy him this summer/next January. Something to consider for sure.

Reminds me of a young Jenas.... No, seriously, he does... Poor lad.... At least we can get to partly excuse him if he always turns up against the Gooners.

Neither Portuguese pronounce the R in words starting with R, so Ricardo is 'Hicardo'.

Pretty annoying when your first name is Ross!

Not nearly as annoying as when Japanese talk about big, important upcoming elections when you're over there. Certainly piqued Mrs Matecheck's interest.
