If i was bale i'll move. 1m per week, 3years thats 144m. Not like i havent won anything. He will never be the man, and as a second fiddle he will never meet someone like cr to lead him again. Not to mention the endorsement deals in china. Absolutely no brainer. Straight up vacation mode
Pretty sure it’s 156m

If I was Gareth and cared about my football, I think I would hang on at RM, because the way things are going there, Zidane won't be there much longer

I don’t get why they reappointed Zidane in the 1st place as he’d already lost the dressing room... barring Ronaldo and bit part Kovacic they’ve still got the same players who disliked him.

Do you hand on heart believe he wouldn't have a load of offers from top european clubs if his wage demands were around the £200k to £300k a week mark?
And can you, hand on heart blame him for signing the contract for putting him on that? To a degree he was hamstrung by it, both parties were. Did Madrid offer to offset any of that? What would the alternative be? Sit and play more golf? Why should he have made it easy for Madrid after they way they've treated him.

Why should he take a pay cut? To satisfy who? A few people on a football forum? A few people by the way posting with an idyllic view of the world, full of noble and righteous sentiment when who knows, they may well have the morals of a polecat and not be out of place on Jeremy Kyle :D

And if he's been greedy, so fucking what, it's his life and his career........but we don't know the details. That's my point. We don't know.

Although it appears some people think they do. Fuck knows how.

Good luck to him if he ends up in China, personally I think it's a mug move and if it were me I'd have done what you suggest but I just feel that going to town on his motives and personality is a bit rich when we only know about 10% of the facts.

Disappointing. He will never be talked about as a top 5 player now.

To be fair to him, no other top ‘5’ player has been ostracized by his own club as Bale has been.

If he had been treated better, I doubt he’d be leaving RM.

I think it’s pretty clear it was either China, rot or take a substantial pay cut to move to another European club. The sad thing about the latter is it’s by far the better option for his family, quality of life and career. We’re not so much berating him for not taking a pay cut, it’s more of case of he’s already a multi-millionaire and would still be on more money than 99.999999% of us could ever dream of... he’s never going to be hard up and has way more money than he could ever spend whether it be him or his family. As a world class footballer his footballing reputation dies with a move to China.

I mostly agree with you and wish him all the best in China.

My point is that I don't think we need to have all the facts to be pretty sure he could move to a top european team on a wage of £200k to £300k.

I'm not going to pass judgement on him not choosing to take a pay cut - I have no idea what I would do in the same situation.

But I also think there is enough information out there for it to be clear the money is more important to him than the football and I think it's fair enough for others to criticise him on this basis.

Best quote on the beeb's website so far:

I’m not sure if anyone here reads anything except the back pages but read about Bale and the recent court case he was involved in and the shit his family have been caught up in. Maybe he doesn’t want to bring his kids back to the UK quite yet. I wouldn’t blame him.

Bale is being given away because he’s like the Rolls Royce your rich, eccentric uncle Clyde gave to you when you were at Primary school and now you’ve come of age and have passed your driving test you painfully realise the world is actually a shitty place, designed by and at the mercy of actuaries and their savage formulas and you can’t afford to insure the car because life isn’t that fucking nice. And no one will buy the Rolls because they can barely afford to run it and everyone hates your spoilt, moaning arse anyway. And now your shitty parents are telling you you can’t store the Rolls in the garage anymore because they want to renovate the garage into an artist’s studio because they’re middle class teats with a penchant for pastels and they want this to happen within a fortnight.

That is why Bale is being given away.

Fuck you, uncle Clyde, you mad wealthy prick

Totally spot on mate from my perspective. I wish it wasn’t the case, but I think it’s an accurate assessment.

I don’t think that analogy works on any level.
