This Bale chap has 18 million twitter followers, none of our players come even close. Harry Kane has 2.6. Tottenhams official account has 3.5.
Sign Bale and it could be huge commercially.
I reckon there will be interest in the near future, and enquires will be made before the window closes. And what was proposed in the Marca papers this week of Real contributing to his wage could prove to be very enticing for a number of clubs. I for one, hope we get in there too, both for football reasons and for further putting us on the map globally.

See how many Twitter followers Kane gets if he plays for Real Madrid.

I’m delighted that the trend of rich clubs overpaying their players is finally coming back to bite them on the arse tbh.

Real Madrid, Man Utd and Arsenal have all had their transfer windows scuppered by the presence of vastly-overpaid players with waning sell-on values on their books.

This hasn’t stopped RM spending big, but is certainly stopping them spend how they’d like to, while the likes of Sanchez and Ozil are really putting a spanner in the works for United and Arsenal respectively.

About time.
Ironically though doesn't that mean we shouldn't be doing the same by signing Gareth Bale?

I bet a lot of United fans were as happy at signing Sanchez as people are on here about the prospect of re-signing Bale. Alexis Sanchez was supposed to be undisputed quality after all and he still had a reasonable record with injuries!

If we're spending big on wages or fees, it should be on players 25 and under. Signings like Ndombele are exactly the profile we should be going for.

Not sure I agree with your calculations but I heartily agree with your sentiments! ?

The average UK salary based on the assumption on 465 years, £13.95 per hour versus GB's £119 per minute.

Think we're all in agreement, Gareth and his family will be fine.

Can't see him coming back to Spurs whatsoever. Numbers don't add up.

It's a bit boring to keep hear people bleating on at what he has earnt or will earn- it's not like he has stolen it! He was bestowed with a gift that has allowed him to earn as much as has.

Would love him back if a viable deal was available!

Yep. Even we are having those same issues on a smaller scale with the likes of VJ and GKN etc. I also recall many a poster/fan claiming Levy should just pay players what they want. It is incredibly frustrating and I feel DL is justified in his strict wage structure for that very reason

You're right Dov it isnt. Very very unlikely to happen but not remotely for the reasons in that post

Pretty clear F-Off tonight.

Madrid playing Barca, Bale is fit and available yet not part of the match squad. Apparently they were allowed to name 19 players, yet only named 17... Zidane will clarify further after the game.

Crazy situation really. What does Zidane see/know that we don't?
