You would really think he committed some grievous crime or something.
I get that, but a lot of anger comes from how little he has adapted, increasingly offensive remarks and his love for golf.

There is a perception he isn't really all that into football anymore. If he is willing to fight and compete I reckon it would be a great signing if he doesn't I don't think it would be.

This idea of taking players other teams don't want being a sign of going backwards is a little silly. Robben and Sniedjer (however you spell his name) are great examples of players who were unfancied by Madrid but inspired the teams they left to to CL glory. While Moura got us into the final, and he was unfancied by PSG.

How on earth do you post such a good post but don't mention VdV? He wasn't too shabby for us really.

Bale is due 70m in wages over the next 3 years. Unless Bale is a loan with Madrid paying about 60% of his wages I can't see it.

Let say, bale and his agent reach an agreement and they accept a payoff of £35m, we give him a sign on bonus of £10m and a 3 year deal of £180k p/w, he'll end up earning more than he would if he stayed at Madrid, for me that isn't a bad deal for Bale or us, i would even say that isn't terrible for Madrid

Just on my way to Chamartin before my 5+ hour train to Coruna. If someone has his details, tell him to meet me there and we can fly back together to Heathrow.

Bale wouldn’t have posted a good luck Spurs message, much as he might have wanted to, due to the way it would have been interpreted and manipulated by media in Spain, here, etc. And for contractual reasons. His case against Madrid is that he’s owed 3 years £. If he does anything to suggest he’d rather leave Madrid than stay, he weakens his legal case.

‘Fondness’ is not really the right word. Players who’ve retired are often ‘fond of’ an ex club. But players still playing simply have clubs they want to go to. Occasionally return to. Spurs under AVB was a happy time for Bale but it’s a bigger, better club and manager than he left. He was loved by Spurs fans and (mostly) loathed in Madrid. It may not work out but, absolutely, Spurs is high up his preferred list of destinations.

We won’t sign him but I really wouldn’t write Bale off at all. Chuck him back at a club in a happy environment and he’d thrive.

I don't think we will sign him, but I do think he will be Player of the Year in England in the next two years.

I just don't know where he would go. He'd be crazy to go to Man Utd. The only place I can see him at is City if they sell Sane. Would Liverpool go for him?

As much as some may hate the man, Pep will not sanction a transfer for a 30 year old player especially given the finances around the deal and the fact that they are being investigated for FFP.

He is much more likely to spunk those funds on Felix.

He looked at Sanchez though. I agree with you, I doubt he will go there. The number of clubs who he can go to are minimal. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still there next season because of that

He was the type of player that we were missing Saturday night. He would have grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and made something happen.

Funny he never mentions our games though unlike alot of other ex players who love the club. Not even a good luck message tonight

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/f...le-exclusive-interview-Real-Madrid-Spurs.html

‘It’s very interesting watching as an outsider,’ he says. ‘You find you’re more into it when you’re not playing in the league. You’re only concentrating on your team then.’
So no more partisan loyalties?
‘Of course there are,’ he says, suddenly deadly serious. ‘I still want Arsenal to lose and Spurs to win.’

I think Sanchez at the time was a bit more understandable as the wages and fee weren't as high as many suspect, United just went over board to spite them and it didn't pan out well for them. But I hope we can sort a deal out if there is a deal to be done.

Exactly, it became such a shit deal that even Pep and Man City decided he wasn't worth it.
