Kane, Bale and Dele in the same team would terrify teams.

Eriksen (I hope) and Son as well, and hopefully Sess.

Just think about that for a minute...

Why are people doing this to themselves? Massive wages, injury issues, seems like he’s grown a bit of an ego...would I love Gareth to return? Hell yes- I think being back in england would help him with the last part- but would I ever in a million years get my hopes up about it? No...there are so many things that need to happen before this is even a possibility.

Seems his position is untenable at Madrid. Only he knows if he wants to play football elsewhere and prove a point or hang around for the money.

Perhaps Zidane knows that his heart simply isn't in it anymore.

Once Zidane was reappointed Bales heart must of sunk. I think he would of left last summer if Zidane hadn't quit.

the thing with Madrid buying him, they where buying a New Galatico, but one that doesn't live the life of 1, that would rather play golf and spend time with his family, and playing golf instead of learning the language as well as being paid a fortune isn't going down well with their fans. with Zidane pushing him away and Zidane being a Madrid hero, the fans are making Bale the enemy.

RM will have to pay a very large chunk of his wages whoever he goes on loan too, or pay off his contract for his remaining 3 years (which I think would be Barrnets doing more than Bale). Bale went to Madrid because it was a dream as a young kid, he has lived the dream (shame it's now a nightmare), and my honest opinion think he would be happy to play regular football at the top level without being paid stupid money. he isn't stupid and knows once he is finished with Madrid NO club in the world will ever get near those wages for someone his age.

I know what you mean, he's no longer got that blistering pace he had, but he's not slow either (goal vs Girona where he latches on a through ball showed that). Still has an absolute weapon of a left foot regardless!

There’s players out there who are reliant on pace eg Bolasie and Lennon... once they lose it they’re next to useless. Bale on the other hand has a lethal shot whether it be from both close or long range, he’s dangerous with his head and has an excellent range of passing. Not too dissimilar to Rooney in that he can competently play in multiple positions. Subject to managing him correctly we can comfortably get another 4 years out of him.

This may be down the list of selling points, but perhaps not insignificant. Davies in our squad gives Bale a fellow Welsh national team member. Davies has alwas spoken glowingly about Bale too, from what I can recall.

The head says this doesn’t make an awful lot of sense for all the reasons stated above but it is difficult not to remember the way he grew at spurs into a quite brilliant player at aspire and all the great memories and performances.

I wouldn’t go that far, but look at teams who do this sort of thing. Signing injury prone players 30+ on huge contracts. It’s not a sustainable business model. I don’t doubt he’s a great player. But we can sign incredible players that are much younger, fitter and can be moulded from Poch’s point of view. I think we have to be majorly careful of the ‘Sanchez effect’ as well.

If we are going to spend big, whether that be on wages or fees, at least spend it on players such as De Ligt, De Jong, Ndombele etc.

are they bullet proof from being injured then? none of those have ever played in a league like the PL, which is so much more physical and faster than the Dutch or French League. plus De Jong has signed for Barca

Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen have ankles like jelly, but I imagine most would be happy if they signed new long term contracts with us.

We are not going to be crippling ourselves financially. If we did a deal ( which I very much doubt) then it will be because we can afford it, whether Bale was fit for 38 games or 8.

I'd just like to raise the point again that if we sign Bale we will certainly miss out on another priority target. Could be Ndombele, LoCelso, Grealish or any of the others. Not sure I'm a big fan of that in all honesty as I'm more interested in securing players for the next 4 or 5 years and I'm not at all sure Bale has that left.

Will bale be fit? will we be pissing away a load of cash that we can invest in a good young player? yes we would all love the liverpool desstroying champions league bale, but is that player on offer? i doubt it as they would not be offering to loan him out!

Zidane if he had the chance would of got rid of him before. I wouldn't be shocked that Zidane quit because he knew Perez was selling Ronaldo and keeping Bale. since Zidane has returned Bale has been less involved

Im sorry, but you cannot know that, none of us can unless some serious ITK says as such and you’re assuming all of those targets actually want to join us.

The financial side is too dependent on so many unknowns right now and if there is one thing for sure, we will not sign Bale at any cost just to make a statement. We will sign Bale because we grabbed Real Madrid by their crushed cojones and made the deal utterly work for us.

I'm not assuming that all of those targets want to join us at all, I just listed a few that we've been linked with. What I'm saying is that if we sign Bale we'll definitely miss out on another of our prime targets (whoever that might be).

Exactly, if Bale comes its because we were able to do it under circumstances that work for Spurs. We're not going to buy him for 50 mil and pay him huge wages. Only way it works is a loan where Madrid cover most of the wages.

Then maybe Bale was one of our prime targets... Which he should be because he's a fucking unbelievable player who would immediately elevate our team.

You're probably right although I'm not that optimistic about Bale being as unbelievable as you are.

You have to be unbelievable to do what he did in the UCL final a year ago.

I want to see Spurs win trophies domestically and in Europe. Bale brings us closer to our domestic trophies in the present, he's a match winner. I find this weird amongst fans almost like they'd rather brag about how awesome their young players are (Sessegnon for example) or bringing in Bale and being a difference maker in matches where we need that extra magic.

Hard to see how Bale can stay at RM. It could be he just sits out his contract, trains with the kids and plays golf. Might never see him play again unless something is worked out. The problem is the way RM have gone about things they have reduced his value making him seem even more expensive than ever
