Yes please - world class player. We don’t get a chance to sign many world class players. This is one we could get and maybe others will follow.

Absolute no brainer, game changer, world class, prem proven, spurs proven legend!

Anyone who turns their nose up at him is crazy. Just look at how we could have done with him this season for example.

Is he still though? Idk... Just asking because I don't really follow other teams except when they play us so I don't know of he got shit or if those Madristas are just entitled wankers... Is he still a top top player?

Yes he is.

As long as he’s fit, he’s a wonderful player.

His fitness is the key to the whole thing, assuming “the whole thing” is more than just wild speculation.

It's a no from me. Quite simply he's just not worth the cost and I'd rather the money be spent on someone else. Especially with all the implications meeting his contract demands would have for the rest of the team. Pay him 350k/week and you have to pay Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Verts etc. the same. Just isn't worth it for a crocked 30-year-old.

I don't think Bale is the missing piece for us so I'd rather we spread that money across 2 or 3 players or if we are going to put all our eggs in one basket, it needs to be someone who is the real difference maker i.e. the player who is the difference between us winning the PL or not etc. Bale is not that player for me.

Is Bale still a top player?
Of course he is.

The issue for Bale at Madrid is the fact that he was always compared to Ronaldo, price, skill, etc... Bale's physique was even changed to match Ronaldo and for me that took away a part of his direct pace that made him so dangerous.

Madrid fans though are some of the worst I know when it comes to player entitlement. Bale is done at RM not because he is a poor player, but because he is not and never was CR7.

We need players like Bale if the money works, because if nothing else it provides immense competition within the squad. Son when he has to play upfront in the absence of Kane leaves a gap that Yes we have the tricky and pacy Moura, but Bale provides power and that ability to shoot from absolutely anywhere that we seem to lose when Kane is out.

Bale still has it all and at Spurs he would be under much less stress and pressure as he is still a Spurs hero. He doesn't have to be anyone other than himself and that could prove key to him re-discovering his joy for everything around him, as right now it feels whenever I see Bale that he is "doing his job", rather than enjoying football.

He's a scapegoat, just like Coutinho and to a lesser extent Dembele at Barcelona. They expect every big signing to be as good as Messi and Ronaldo, which just isn't possible. He has still contributed a goal/assist every 143 mins in the league and CL this season (11g 5a in 26 starts, 10 sub appearances) for them.

The question is whether the hunger is still there and whether his body can cope, let alone whether Levy would cough up the money required!

All qoutes are that it's 250k and you can be sure Levy will negotiate that down (and compensate in other ways). We are talking 10m Loan fee. 10M is NOTHING and barely registers on our budget in any normal season, let alone with the money we seem to have for this summer.

Yeah I was just making a little joke. Remember whole Bale/Lennon/avb/verbal crowd etc and the whole inverted wingers debacle

Oh fair enough

I seem to remember that now

A lot of water under the bridge since then; it's hard to keep up sometimes

Gareth Bale appearences 2018/2019: 29
Harry Kane appearences 2018/2019: 28

No one has suggested we would pay even half of his current wages. So I am not sure I follow your logic.

Even on the suggested number, even if that's not 100% contribution to his wages, they can do one.

If we can negotiate a lot beter deal then maybe

Even if we go for the loan deal that's 23m all told, none of which we'd get back because it's all just a loan. I just don't think he's worth it when we've got a limited budget. We're not like City where we can just spend as much as we want, if we spend 23m on Bale then that's 23m less that we've got to put towards players who would be massive improvements to our squad long term. I'd be gutted if, for example, we get Bale on loan for a year but then miss out on e.g. Ndombele because we wouldn't go above 30m for him. I'd rather we spend 50m on Ndombele than 23m for Bale on loan.

I doubt that Levy thinks that way, on the evidence of every shred of previous transfer window experience.

If Levy thinks a player’s not worth more than £30m say, he’s not going to offer £50m just to get him, even if he has the money.

So I doubt that taking Bale on loan would prevent us from investing in other players if Levy believes those other players are a good investment and available at the right price according to Levy’s evaluation.

Obviously there’s an absolute limit to what will be spent in total, but Bale, providing he’s proven to be fully fit, will not be seen as much of a gamble, and the increased revenue he’d generate will go a long way to offsetting his cost.

Fuck me the possibility of a 29 year old Gareth Bale coming back to Tottenham and there are actually fans who who wouldn't touch the deal with a barge pole, I give up.
Honestly, £10 million for a year for Gareth Fucking BALE! Christ we'll get that for Onomah and if they subsidise his wages as well then the only extra expense is the difference in what we'd have to pay him and what we'd be happy to pay him ordinarily.

Dont think anyone us advocating taking Bale if ut cost us Ndombele.

But if we were able to strengthen where needed then add that little stardust of Bale on top, why wouldn't you

Get him on that plane bring him back from Spain! Viva.....

He's a winner. He's won 4 CL's for God's sake. Some of our players have never even seen a trophy.

Even if he was to only play 30 games out of 50-60 it would be worth it. He'd generate the fee in merchandise alone probably.

Kane
Bale Dele Son
Sissoko Winks

We'd murder teams.
